Hit a low retaining wall turning out of a drive thru. How much is the repair likely to cost?

Years ago when I had a Gen2 My wife damaged my truck like that because she didn't listen when I told her snow banks freeze. But she also got the bed good. I think It was just short of 5k cash to straighten and repaint that side of the truck but it also extended to the bed. And this was 15 years ago. Off the top of my head I would guess you should expect a 4-6k repair bill.

Depending on how you pay and what level of repair you want like door skin replacement vs repair it can vary. And then that side is going to need to be prepped painted and blended.

Thanks for the information. I hope insurance will cover at least some of it. It doesn’t go all the way to the bed but it does go from the front passenger side to the back passenger side not sure if it’s something that could be buffed out but I was doubting it.

Why wouldn’t insurance cover it? I’d think that’ll end up $8-10k. That’s damage on the bedside too?

Might try a trade school body shop class in your area if you want to save some coin and skip the insurance claim. Don't cost much to ask.

Make a claim and get it fixed. To much out of pocket expense on that one.

Yup, that’s exactly what we have insurance beyond the required liability coverage. Shouldn’t affect your rates if you’re not a frequent flyer. Shit happens, and this is what you’re paying for.

Oh I see what you’re saying about the damage going all the way into the bed I thought you meant further than the picture showed. Thanks for all the information wanted to get an idea of what to expect!

I would say 6K plus. Just do an insurance claim and be done with it. My wife did that on my 2013 Tundra when it was brand new, but much much worse :)

I estimate between $500 and $50,000 American Freedom Bucks. Converted to Canuckistani pesos, that would be $500,000 - $500,000,000.

I do not know what insurance you have but I have had GEICO forever. The one time I did something dumb to my 09 Crewmax they covered a brand new front bumper and paint and did not screw me at all on premiums. If your company has any form of accident forgiveness this is the time to verify and take advantage of it. probably just need to avoid anything being your fault for a few years after to get a clean slate.
