I have a 2006 tundra limited 4wd. It has a 2.5” icon coil overs and eibach and JBA uca’s. Running 33”KO2’s. I’m hearing a squeaking noise when I’m parked and I turn the steering wheel or if I’m at a slow roll and turn the wheel. I just bought the truck and don’t know if the previous owner greased the bushings or balls. I just greased the upper bushings and ball with Mobil 1 lithium grease and still squeals.
Does anyone have some input on what may be wrong?

    LBJs are the biggest worry.

Poly bushings are notorious for squeaks, especially if the person who installed them is ignorant to the need for poly-safe lubricant anywhere the poly touches metal, or lubricant has diminished over time. You can potentially test if poly bushings are the source by dousing any seam of the bushing with silicone spray and see if the squeak diminishes, but this is not a definitive test, because there's no way to force penetration of the lubricant. White lithium grease is poly-safe also, but silicone lubricants (silicone in gel format) is best.

That said, I also want to emphasize what @KNABORES said, that the LBJs are a huge fail point, and the biggest mistake people make with LBJs is buying non-OEM replacements, because aftermarket LBJs are notorious for having a substantially high failure rate, short life span.

Have you done any inspection at all, typical wheel push/pull/slap test to check bearings, BJs, tie rods with one front wheel jacked up at a time?

Have you jacked up both front wheels and tested steering left/right while you're SAFELY under the truck with the e-brake engaged, and a friend is going lock-to-lock on steering (with truck running) so you can see if the squeak is coming from the rack?

If you've not done the above two steps, I don't see how we can proceed with advising you on what it could be.

So as soon as I heard the squeak I greased the poly bushings and the upper ball joint with lithium grease. I lifted the front end and steering from left to right was no squeaking. As soon as I put the wheels back on the ground and slightly turn either way it squeaks. I will do the wheel bearing check today

Can you clarify this part. You have ICON coil overs and JBA UCA's. What part is made by Eibach?

I’m like 90% sure Eibach springs is what he meant

Just cause eibach makes springs for a shit load of companies. Just like the TRD springs are eibach.

I have ICON coil overs but I didn't realize they offered them with Eibach springs.

I didn't think ball joints were known to squeak but I agree they should be inspected.

Yes they are eibach springs. I purchased the truck like this. I will be replacing the lbjs and go from there.

BJ will squeak (creak) if dry.

Switched out lower ball joints with oem lbj’s and also installed new JBA upper ball joints. Will see how it drives on the way to the alignment shop. Hopefully the squeaking is gone. If not I’ll probably be looking into the steering rack next.

Ball Joints and TRE’s are more of a Creaking than a Squeaking.

Squeaking is mostly Rubber or Poly contacting Metal.

It was the passenger side lbj was bad. Took it out to ocotillo wells for some trailing over the weekend and did excellent.
