New to the pickup truck game and I am curious how you guys jack and stabilize the rear of the truck high enough to install lift shackles? Back in my Land Cruiser days I remember trying to do one side at time, the twisting of the axle made it nearly impossible, so I know I need the whole back of the truck off the ground. I have a quality 3-ton floor jack and 6-ton stands, but these seem light duty for this task and I am not sure I can get the required height. Also, placing the jack stands on the frame rails before it bends upwards makes it seem like there is a lot of ass end hanging off the back. The whole thing seems sketchy, I need a hydraulic lift.

Did it the other day. Easy, jack the back end up and put jack stands. Remove both wheels. Remove shackles and install new ones.
