The factory installed power step rail has a large gap towards the rear half of the rail. The same gap exists on both sides. It has been annoying to look at it in my first 10 days of ownership. Is this gap normal? Is it possible to make adjustments to eliminate this gap? Is it an adjustment I can easily make or should I take it to the dealer?

    Lots of stuff!
There are 4 brackets that mount the steps to the underside of the truck. There are 2 bolts for each bracket. There are a few options for adjustments and some might require reworking the brackets or just loosening and adjusting the bolts. I don't have powered steps but I do have a set that I made so I know what the mounts look like.

When the steps are out, are they an even distance off the rocker panel? If so, adjustment might require a bit of work to sort out the longer brackets.

With the 4 brackets, the position of the front one is different (longer bracket) by quite a bit over the other 3 which are basically the same.

It may be that the brackets are bolted to the underside of the truck and then to the step rails. If that is the case. You should be able to adjust it there.

If that doesn't make sense, get the guys who installed it to adjust it.

These rails have only two brackets. In the out position, the alignment looks correct. There appears no adjustments other than to loosen and rework. I think i will check first with the dealer to see if they will consider to correct. I should have made a comment when I noticed it at delivery.

I see, it looks like they are only using 2 mounting points. I looked at the Amp boards and they have slotted holes so you can adjust them in and out. The installers should be able to make them fit better.

Normal, cab has alittle curve to it and the running boards are straight. These fit better vs my past pos ford.
