I’m looking to do some 17x8.5 +10 wheels and I’m trying to decide on tires. I was thinking of doing 285/75/17s but the offset has me little worried. I’m not looking to do a BMC, fine with removing mudflaps and pulling/molding the finder liner. Anyone run this setup, I found it more on the 3rd gens for the wheel size.

My back up is 17x8 +25, which I know will fit that tire size without much issue. I just like the other wheels more.

Being in Florida it will be most sand/dirt driving for me. So I plan on going with either the Discovery AT3s or Toyo open country at3. Also thought about GY wrangler territory MT in a 315/70 as it comes out being a 285/75 when you measure it. But the Bronco boys don’t seem the like them and I see such mix reviews. Trying to play the balancing act of performance and weight to help with MPGs

I run 2 different setups with even more aggressive 0 offset 17x8.5 wheels on a 2/1.5 lift. No BMC and I even keep the factory mud flaps, but I did trim them in some inconspicuous areas to prevent rubbing. The front fender liner has been messed with to reduce rubbing however. It’s probably going to depend on your alignment. One set is 305/70 Toyo AT3s which don’t rub anywhere at all. The other set is 315/70 territory MTs that rub the front fender liner a tiny bit sometimes which I could probably do something about when I have time.

Good to know, thank you. Were those the wrangler territory MTs? How’d you like them if so.

Yes sir. I don’t have many miles on them to give that much feedback. I like that they are lightweight, and the truck feels lighter and rides better being that they are both lighter and load C instead of E. Wet and dry traction seems similar to the Toyos. They are a little louder than the Toyos but not loud by my standards. No loose dirt, mud or snow experience with them to give any feedback in that regard. I think they look great at least!

Light weight is definitely a plus especially with these trucks I’m learning. I appreciate the feedback, I might just take the gamble on them and give them a try. Discount tires got the for a pretty good price compared to coopers and Toyo’s. I had nitto ridge grapplers on my 4runner and those were loud compared to the cooper s/t maxs I had before them. So as long as they’re not that loud I’ll be happy.
