They are pushing innovation in the offroad world that is for certain. I would have to go gas gas 300 just to be different and because I am cheap.
The ready to race thing is odd because a new 300 is $14k Canadian and does not have a skid plate, rad guards or bark busters (i need my fingers for work).
Goimg to keep my 50/50 woods/moto yz250 until Yamaha comes out with a proper estart/efi woods bike.

My 2013 has around 360 hours and is maintained with pride.

Happy to do it. I'm not a fan of fancy chocolate and I enjoyed it. The guy on TW said he doesn't like US chocolate because it's too sweet. Prefers foreign stuff, so I figure it'll be perfect for him.

You are so right about keeping a bike simple. As much as I love ktm I swear that anything I did required me to take 4 other things off to do it. Doubled or tripled my maintenance time for sure depending on what it was I need to do. I'm not trying to talk you out of the T7 either. I almost had my wife on one for a second due to this reason alone. But she opted for the 690, even though I put the majority of the miles on it for us. :yay:

    I would get a Super Tenere, not a T7. I hate chains.

Your friend is mistaken. CFMoto is not owned by KTM.

I'm old. Chains are where it's at. Easy to maintain and can fix it on the trail if it breaks. Simple.

Mainly, I don't like cleaning them. I know it's not hard and doesn't take long, but I despise it. It's not a logical thing. Purely a preference. Also, I plan to own my bike long term and the idea of having to swap chains and sprockets down the road holds zero appeal.

They partnered, and CFMoto makes stuff for them, but they are separate companies. Though, KTM is moving their manufacturing to China to cut costs.

I'm a shit mechanic, don't have a garage, don't have many tools. I prefer as low maintenance as possible. Why do you think I'm single?

not that I encourage drinking but a 6 pack of beer, a warm garage and a bike in need of maintinance is a perfect Friday night for me. Its my plan for this evening in fact.

See, I'd take a guy a 6 pack and leave my bike in his garage to get worked on. :D

I've done the research on the Super Tenere to know that I can do all the basic stuff pretty readily, so that's why I'm gunning for it. I was half tempted by the TransAlp until I saw the stupidity of changing the airfilter. You have to pull a pile of parts off to get to it.

that transalp is awesome, I would not let a filter change sway you, Lubetube will make it easy and I am sure you have the skill to do it.

Even Toyota wouldn’t charge that. Prob only wants a dealer handling it. I’m not sure

Dune was - - meh. Good, I guess. Zendaya and Timothy Chalmet are both overrated. Maybe Zendaya is way overrated. It's way better than the 80's version, so it has that going for it.

Oh, I have no doubt I'm capable of changing the filter on it, same for sprockets and chains. I don't want to. :) The TransAlp just has a bunch of plastic pieces you have to take off to be able to lift the tank to get to the filter. I'm spoiled with my CB500X one being under the seat, and the Super Tenere is just a couple bolts and tipping the tank up.

She got out earlier today. She went to the front patio, and stood on the front patio, barking at the neighbors
