Hi simple question, I personnally run 0w30 amsoil signature series on my Tundra. Would there be any problem with that instead of the 0w20 appart from the fuel consomption? Thanks alot

Is there a reason you started using 0w30 in the first place? Seems like if you made the conscious, personal decision to use something other than the factory spec 0w20 then you'd likely have a reason and would have determined if there'd be an issue with that beforehand. :D

The only reason I tought about the 0W30 is the benefit of the 30 when towing and it’s pretty hot in Summer, since I keep the 0W for the Winter I didn’t tought there will be a problem of using it. The only reason I asked that is, by example the clearance of the engine wouldn’t allow the 0w30 as minimal as it look I was just concern. Thanks

Nope. Been running it under the same conditions for 240k miles. Burns zero. Leaks zero. Spotless under valve covers.

Settle down “the toyota engineers said 0w-xxxx” fans. Im just saying the stuff hes asking about works.:goingcrazy:

    I’ll add…mines a 5.7, just noticed you have the gen 3.

Fair enough, I'm not saying it doesn't work or causes any issues. Just saying it seems like you'd ask these questions and figure that out before using it. Carry on.

Honestly I figure the engineers know what they are doing, at Toyota anyway, which is why I buy their products, so I try to stick with their recommendations.
