TRD dual exhaust

I didn’t like how big the tips were but it’s probably doable. I finally settled with the magnaflow overland with no visible tips or exit

No issue at all. And sounds good! It's not the biggest difference. Mainly for looks.. but changes tone a little bit

You were able to remove/replace on flat ground just by jacking up frame?

 

Yup just put my floor jack right up on the tow hitch

 

Sorry for the delayed response. Putting it up on the ramps only helped me to get under the truck since I’ve got big ruts in the driveway. I blocked the front wheels, dropped the spare, and ended up jacking up on the hitch mount with a 6x6 pressure treated block that was about 14” long. The suspension really needs to be at full droop to get the pipe over the axel without damaging anything, at least in my case. Jacking it up from there got me enough room to weasel it around and it came out in seconds. Not the safest solution but it worked. Originally, I tried boosting the airbags up to the hi setting, but that wasn’t enough.

 

I went to my Toyota dealership on Monday to order the TRD exhaust tip. They said is back order and I ordered it and the guys said it will take about 2 months. They called me today to pick it up and I got it for $304 he gave me discount. The box for it was so big I just took out and have them keep the box lol. Can’t wait to install it.

 

Yeah, I couldn't believe the size of the box when I picked mine up. Still waiting for a decent warm day to get out and install it. I didn't see it in your photo, but I will assume you recovered the gasket and bolts from the box before you let them have it.

And I really have to LOL the mods putting this in the "Performance and Tuning" forum. This is really just a cosmetic mod.

 

Just completed my installation for my TRD dual exhaust tip and slip on muffler from TIG Welding Creations. Was very easy install. It You guys should check this guy on YouTube.

 

How does it sound? Any clips?

It sounds so good with no drone. I will say is the best exhaust for our truck out there bro. I tried to post a clip but for some reasons will not let me .

I tried ordering via 5 different dealers over the past week and all cancelled.

However, I was successful ordering via OEM Vehicle Parts for $287.13. Shipping $12.10
Shipped yesterday, 5/10/2024 via USPS.

 

The pipe slightly touching the power side step. The metal hanger is stout. I need more leverage.

Ideas on what those have tweeked the exhaust hanger? Pics?

 

hoping my online order goes through for Fred Haas since they are local to me and had Memorial Day discounts offered. Really not a fan of the drone on my stillen exhaust so I guess I’ll try and create a hybrid setup for the stillen vs swap back to stock and use these new tips for better stock-ish appearance.

 

Please keep us updated. I'm also interested in this exhaust but I know many have been having trouble ordering it.

Fred Haas canceled. I re-ordered through OEM vehicle parts 5/27 and they emailed back just asking for VIN but haven’t heard back since

 

Any updates on this? Were you able to make it not touch the power bed step?

 

I just received mine today! Looking forward to installing myself. Not entirely sure of the process, will re-read this entire thread. Is there a video available? I want to be very sure about the primary jack location and also I plan to use jackstands. I have not removed my spare before and also need to figure that out. As others have mentioned, thanks to these posts I’m building the confidence to install it myself. I’m sure that a shop would charge at least 2-300 or more for this install. Thanks!

 

Really having fun with this so far! Very enjoyable upgrade at an amazing price. I can’t stop admiring it. Sound is subtly different, I love it.

Does it make nice noises?

 

I like it a lot. The difference is subtle but noticeable. Much nicer than stock. Appearance is also outstanding. The price is amazing. If you want more growl you can swap to one of the superb mufflers in the exhaust thread in combination with this.
