Pederson in FC. I’m up north. They are usually 3-4 weeks out on anything anyway (including oil change), so not surprising. I am going to call and verify they have the parts this week. I called to make an appointment and got to talk to a f&$@ing robot, so I want to make sure.

Always good to talk with a person and not the auto appointment shit. I have a Service Manager I've known for 15yrs or so and I call him direct. He knows not to give me any bs - so like you I want to be sure the parts are at the shop before I take it in. GL.

Edit- my service manager left for a better paying job - can't blame him. Went for first service since he left- total shit show. New guy is lost like my recall parts. Fauck!

As dangerous as this design flaw could potentially be, this one doesn't bother me as Toyota saw the mistake and is providing a permanent fix plus implementing it into manufacturing of new ones. The dealers better make sure they get to those that may not know about it. This could end up costing them if it results in a fire in a garage or out driving causing injury or death. The lawyers must be lining up, ready to go on this one.

I agree. However, never underestimate how big $$$$ juries like to give to people against a corporation in a lawsuit.

    Lots of stuff!
There was at least one report of the fuel line actually wearing through and leaking. That could have been a bad situation but fortunately, it did not turn into one!

I have my appointment next week and I have sent the dealership 3 TSB's that should address the issues I am having with my 22. I expect to talk the service department prior to the appointment as they are going to want to ask about the conditions that would require the TSBs. I am still on the fence that this dealership will do a good job but that will be seen at the end of the service.

None of them really bothered me except for not having the 2nd keyfob.

Anyway, still some peace of mind after getting all recalls taken cared off today…Until the next one.

Set my appointment three weeks ago for today 2-16-24. Stevinson Toyota West in Golden CO. Was told by Dan they had the required fix kit in stock. Show up today and no surprise - Dan says parts not in stock. Dan is in over his head but still finds the bathroom. What a waste of time. I'd fire Dan but that won't fix the problem. I will try again. Doubt anyone at my dealership gives a shit anymore as long as they get a pay check - until they don't. HEY DAN! DO YOUR DAMN JOB!

Before I took off on my Vacation, I went in for my fix, they asked how much fuel was on board , I said 3/4 and they said bring it back at 1/4. The mechanic did say to the advisor, make a dummy appointment so we can get the parts here and then put his name on them, for when he gets back.
    Note…….i am not back

I called yesterday and was told they'll order the "kit" and then call me to set up an appointment after they receive it. Also said to leave the fuel tank under 1/2 full.
    I'll do my best:)

This issue, tailgate paint wear, and a few other concerns on my truck were the final straws that caused me to trade my truck in for something else.

It is complete garbage that we have to wait 8-10 months for a permanent fix on the fuel line issue. I had to wait 2-3 months for the temp fix to be available.

If anyone has trouble getting parts I'd encourage you to make a case with Toyota if possible.

Got my temp fuel line fix today as well as the Tonneau cover and parking brake. All good. I did run it down to just below a 1/4 tank and they were happy about that. Also saw 2 new Tacomas at the dealership, one of which was getting bought. The other one was an SR, looked pretty nice. Actually seems smaller than the Gen 3. I haven’t compared any specs though. Very Tundra-esq.

Well at least I asked Ryan. I thought they may as well check it while the truck is in the shop for the diff replacement. They also told me that I would be notified of my FOB and when I checked, the status showed it was given to me at delivery. Nope. Now getting it when I pick up the truck. Called the service advisor today to check on diff parts. He went to check. After a few hours he called back and admitted the parts came in Friday as expected. And now the tech is installing it. Yes, no one told the tech the parts were in. Glad I asked. Now it is supposed to be ready Thursday. I am in the Twilight Zone. 3rd Tundra and weirdest purchase ever!

I went in for the other recall, and they wound up also doing this. They told me it was unexpected but they received 13 kits today. So they might be showing up now.

Six weeks tomorrow and still waiting. Hopefully soon, and two birds with one stone as I need the Transmission recall flash done too.

Called in to schedule my Fuel Line Recall temp fix, Transmission TCU software flash, and 10K Oil/Fil/Rotate. Dealer said they have to order the Fuel Line Kit and it would take a week to come in. Then the earliest they could install it was a week after that ( so 2 weeks out ). They did say a Toyota supplied loaner vehicle would be available. ( I figured that might be a fight )

Made my Fire Hazard Recall appointment 7 weeks ago today. Took it for the service 5 weeks ago tomorrow - Dealer did not have the parts, failed to coordinate with the parts department and failed to tell me before I arrived and wasted my time. Dealer service manager called two weeks ago tomorrow and apologized and said I was on the list for the repair. As of today - no contact. Thinking the GM is going to get an ear full, and I will find a Stealership that actually knows something about customer service. Don't go to Stevinson Toyota West in Lakewood, CO.

UPDATE EDIT: No action from said "stealership" so I found another (Mountain States Toyota) - I verified the other dealership has the Recall Kit and will do the work along with other Transmission Recall ECU flash and rotate tires as same service appointment - next week. One week for them to do what the other could not do even seven weeks after making an appointment.

Got the Temp Fix done for the fuel leak hazard, and the Transmission recall ECU flash done today, and a tire rotation. Glad to have these done. Big Thank You to Mountain States Toyota = big eat shit and go-out-of-business to Stevinson Toyota West.

Has anyone heard any updates on when the actual fix will start rolling out? We are well into summer 2024 which is what was targeted in the recall.

Ridiculous. How can it be acceptable for a safety recall to be unresolved for more than a year?

It's too bad lemon laws were not written to force buybacks for recalls unresolved for too long. Once the recall is out there you've got to fix it in a reasonable timeframe.
