Let’s see how this goes. Heading from Southern AZ to South Florida for some fishing, beach, spring training baseball, and to meet some amazing people along the way.

Plan is to leave in about 6 hours and drive through the night - first stop San Antonio for a tour of the Alamo and lunch along the River Walk. Leaning towards Durty Nelly’s but if anyone has a recommendation let’s hear it.

Almost 24 hours in - we’ve hit Voodoo Doughnuts, the Alamo, San Antonio Riverwalk, and two Buc-ees. Going to Homerun Dugout in Katy in a couple hours.

Dude, you are crazy to drive that far. You are completely insane to drive that far with the family. That being said, have fun and bring me some Beaver Nuggets and jerky back.

Okay - delayed update. Drove all day in the rain yesterday - met @Fotnot in Lake Charles for a jazz brunch - great spot downtown. Had an amazing time.
    IMG_0352.jpg FullSizeRender.jpg

next stop was Baton Rouge - went to LSU and saw Mike.
    IMG_0938.jpg

    IMG_0362.jpg

Drove through NO and it poured - got one great view of Lake Pontchartrain before the rain engulfed us.

    FullSizeRender.jpg

Went through Mississippi without stopping - hit our 4th Buc-ee’s about halfway through Alabama.
    IMG_0373.jpg

Made it to Clearwater around 2:45 local time after losing another hour driving. Checked in and slept for about 5.5 hours before exploring the Clearwater Beach.

After worrying about getting rained out for a couple hours - we took the risk and went to watch the Phillies v Pirates in Clearwater. Beautiful park, great baseball. Watched O’Neil Cruz hit two huge home runs right next to where we were sitting - Josh was excited to see us in the highlight videos as he watched both home runs sail over his head.

After catching most of the game we piled in the car one last time for the final 180 miles of our 2,300 mile trek. Down the coast to Marco Island and the sight we’ve been waiting for -

This is awesome. Cramming the family in the rig for a road trip makes for some of the best childhood memories. Thanks for allowing us to join in on the adventure.
