    Hello everyone,

My 2007 SR5 suffered a complete engine failure recently, and I am now looking for a replacement engine/radiator for it-will a 4.7L from either an '05 or '06 be compatible?

I assume you overheated? That 4.7 is a tough one to break otherwise.

Must have been the case: no warning signs, tho, other than sudden flashing VSC and 4Lo lights on dash. No prior leaks of oil or coolant. I'll post a vid of the ticking sound it was making in the minutes before it completely shut down....

I've been told by a local mechanic that the intake is fused to the block; and that the radiator melted.....so not likely salvageable.

I basically have the same question. My 2007 4.7 SR5 had a timing belt malfunction at 210,000 miles, and is a lost cause. No, it didn't catch fire. Just seized up and not repairable. As we were having some very minor oil leakage before the mishap, we don't want to rebuild it. I want to put in a replacement engine, something not rebuilt, pulled from a junk yard truck, hopefully with fewer miles than what ours had. What year Tundra engines are compatible with my 2007 model?
    Thanks in advance.
