Hey guys. Looking at a few trucks and I’m pretty rust phobic. I’m in Florida and have only ever felt with rust free trucks. What do you guys think of the underbelly on this one? It spent alot of time in Massachusetts.

I’d walk. You’re in Florida don’t need to settle on an auction truck from NE. Are you on the coast. The salt spray air will also continue to eat at it. Few areas are too far gone for me to get

It's not the worst I've seen, but it's no where near good. If the truck were cheap enough, maybe. I personally wouldn't spring for that. The body looks more gnarly than anything.

Pass. Looks like cats have been replaced. Maybe even a prior frame recall and replacement? Perforating body rust is a no go for me.

Looks like a two year old truck in NY! Being in Florida I would pass.

It has lot more rust inside the frame channels.

Pass. That truck is going to have holes in the body shortly. Frame isn't the worse I've seen, but I also bet it's worse than it looks. Probably rusting from the inside out.

I'd also be concerned about the sway bar, tie rods, and that steering rack bushing is beyond shot.

If I had to guess, I'd say the frame was replaced (judging by the worn off sticker on the frame in the upper left of this pic)
And you can see the janky rusted out body right above it. And yeah, that exhaust! Is this a V8 or V6?

Looks like a replaced frame that wasn’t taken care of since it was replaced. Why are you looking at MA trucks if you live in FL? Unless you’re getting it cheap, don’t bother.

The frame itself isn’t too bad but would need protective treatment to prevent further corrosion. I’d be worried about the underside body rot though. I also can’t tell how bad the rear diff is as well.

I say stay away and don’t bother with the headache.

I'd pass. The body rot is pretty bad. You're going to be fighting rusty fasteners left and right on this as you rehab it to where you want it, it just isn't worth it unless it's a smoking deal. There's better trucks in FL, you don't want this.
