I purchased a set of iarmor side steps and am unsure of exactly how they mount. I know I have to drill holes and use self tapping screws which doesn't seem like they could handle the weight. However that is what the company supplied and when I called they said they were fine. I would like to see if any of you have installed these side steps and if so help e plain to me how to mount them.

Looked on their website and it doesn't seem to include 2000-2006 Tundras in their fitment. Maybe that's the problem? Self tapping screws would probably work, but for how long? Especially because it doesn't look like they mount to the frame rails, but to the body. There should be factory supplied mounting points on the body. If those don't match the brackets for the steps, I wouldn't mount them.

I've questioned these in the past. Other than a photoshop pic, I've never seen or read where anyone actually installed them. After reading the instructions, I gave them a hard pass. Search the forum here, no one that I could find has done it.

I may just modify the brackets. I love the look of them but now wish I had researched them a little. Do you all know and side steps with the same look that are a simple bolt on setup?

Was there any brackets included? I got a set of this brand for my '94 Jeep and they had heavy steel brackets that went on the body mounts between the rubber mount and nut.

It did include brackets. It has you drilling through the pinch weld area. I will get some pics of brackets and instructions.

Mine attached to the bottom of the rail of the running board, it has slots in it and a "T" bolt that went up in it and the bracket attached to that.
