I'm just realizing there seems to be more clearance in front of the tire on the double cabs whereas the AC trucks seem to have more clearance on the backside.

My guess is when you get to 33" and bigger tires the DC trucks need to clearance on the firewall side, where as the access cabs need to clearance on the front bumper.

Has anyone ever taken measurements or is there some sort of general consensus on roughly how much you need to cut on which side of the fender for the two truck models in comparison?

With the BJ60 and FJ80's I've owned I've been down the rabbit hole of larger tires. 33's can be a gateway drug if you know what I mean. But the 1st gen's seem to be much tighter on the fenders.
