Switch to lower rear bed step

Anyone out there put a switch in to lower the rear bed step without opening the tailgate?

Looking to do this as I put biking over the tailgate, and it would be nice to lower the step with the tailgate shut.

 

just hit the switch in the cab that say "out", it then extends the step and running boards out, regardless of doors open or gate open
