How about this morning, I started my truck up and immediately smelled a strong odor after it has sat for 3 days. I got near the tailpipe and smelled this same strong odor. There was medium sized smoke that looked gray/white that became light after a few seconds and that smell went away after.

Normally my truck would exhibit a fresh gasoline smell but this time it was so strong. Either my truck doesn’t like sitting or there’s something going on that I don’t know about. I have no issues with coolant or oil burning. To add on, when I when from park to drive, it had a few second delay before it move. I can feel it engage but it was a little slow. It shifted a little weird at first but now it’s back to normal with shifting and all. So weird. Can anyone chime in? It has about 247k miles by the way.

White smoke usually means water in the combustion chamber.

It’s still pretty cold where I’m at but after that it was gray looking. The smell was really strong but it didn’t exactly smell like coolant, oil, or the fuel smell I normally have. Probably one of worst possible exhaust smell (but it was very brief)

" This past winter, I started having the hard starting problems due to the high alcohol percentage level issue (the motor incorrectly thinks I'm running E85 ethanol gas but I never have, which causes extended starter motor cranking, an overly rich stumble, and strong fuel smells when it does start).
