Howdy, I don’t expect this one solved here. It’s too weird. I suspect I need an ecm. 2010 tundra with intermittent electrical problem. Audio system, power outlets, power mirror adjustment, dome lights coming on as soon as ignition turned off are all failing together intermittently. Here’s another really odd part. The power outlets turn on once ignition is turned off intermittently. Never been through deep water. Any thoughts or idea where to start without just buying a programmed Toyota ecm and saying eff it? $800 seems like an expensive guess.

First, Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)!

Those things come ON when you turn off the ignition?? This is a long shot, but check your battery terminals to make sure they are in good shape and tightened own for a good connection. Also look for a loose ground. What was the first symptom and when did it start?

Agreed with above post, my first thought was battery, make sure you’re voltage is good.

Battery voltage is perfect. The first time it acted up I was just sitting at idle and the audio system shut off. The only thing that seems to come back on most of the time when I turn ignition to off is the power outlet.

Possibly rodent damage, look for signs of rodents. Check the cabin filter too.

Just noticed that you have a platinum. Does the column adjust automatically every time? Sometimes the wires go to crap from frequent movement.

Steering column does adjust automatically. I’ll pull the plastic apart and have a look. Good thinking.

Buying ECUs and throwing them in trucks generally fixes nothing. This is definitely not Engine ECU stuff, if anything Body Control module.

Most likely a wiring, relay, or fuse problem.

The better in the detail you can describe what’s going on, the better we can help.

Electrical system in this truck is not crazy advanced, any of it can be fixed if you first fully understand what’s it’s doing wrong.

We’ve got a winner 2mchfun! The short is in the steering column. When I retract the steering wheel everything comes back on. I’ll pull the wheel and cover, find the short and let you know. Thanks!

Man seeing shit like that burns my ass! Then people either get paid for that or they pat themselves on the back for doing such a good job.

Very good in finding that before things caught fire!
