The 2024 Tundra I’m looking at comes with a factory catalytic cover.
    Is it any good?
I had been considering buying one for my 2022 Tundra

Toyota doesn't make any OEM shields that I am aware of. A few vendors that makes the plates sell them in bulk to dealers and they install them before selling the vehicle or give the customer the option of purchasing one. Desert Eagle did that a couple of years ago.

Of course I know that :). My post should have been directed more towards the general topic instead of being a quote to your post. My bad...shame on me lol. :D

On a side note, any idea what would keep the parking lights from flashing when locking and unlocking with the key fob? I have to hit the button 3 or 4 times for them to flash. The doors lock and unlock fine every time.

Yea, it's nicely done. It has smooth head carriage bolts holding it on so not real sure how it comes off. I haven't really looked around under there much, but I assume they may be captive and there are nuts on the backside or maybe vise-versa.

Huh I wonder who made that one... @lapoolboy anything on your purchase paperwork that indicates a part number for the port installed cat shield?

None whatsoever. It simply says "catalytic converter shield" under PIOs and lists a price of $549.00.

Yep, you have the same one I do. Looks like Gulf States is getting these from another source.

TRD Air Filters, Front door windows tinted to match the rears. Wheel locks, Talons Garage cat shield, Tyger Automotive soft tonneau cover, WeatherTech floor mats with Tuff Skinz Custom Emblem kit, Toyota OEM Emblem Black Out kit. AVS vent covers on all four doors, Red Tundra letters on front bumper & TRD highlighted in Red on front grille. Tailgate Tundra Letters in Black.
    Check out Talons Garage.
Very competitive pricing and quality fit. First purchase was the catalytic cover than went back and purchased the recently updated skid plate which has access to drain plug and oil filter which the Toyota TRD plate does not.

Interesting cat plate. By the thickness of it, looks like a metal plate.

I personally like the aluminum ones. RCI and Talons garage make them.
Bought an RCI skidplate and transplate myself. Nice products.

My son and I have the Talon's garage plates on our trucks. Protects the cats and also acts as a skid plate for the transmission. Very heavy and appears to be high quality. Cheaper than the Toyota cat plate too. Gonna finish the set and get the engine and transfer case plates. The "off-road" skid plate that came on my truck is a joke, it covers almost nothing.

They are made by some company in the San Antonio area. We have a mutual vendor, but I didn't pry for any more details as it wouldn't be fair to ask that of my vendor.

I knew this was going to happen from the beginning and it was only a matter of time. On top of the OEM cat plates, China and every other person with a plasma table is making them. The Cat shield market is a very dead one now which is a big reason why we are now shifting all of our focus to the off road market.
