To be fair Dealership add said 825kg of payload right at the top. Toyota website when on a comparison said 825kg of payload with that model and equipment. It had zero add ons it was 625kg on the door. If you pick the website and click compare pick trd off road crewcab it doesn't say any where up to or anything just here is the payload. The trd pro says 1600lbs it's not 1600lbs. It's alot less the problem is when you click on the compare it misleads another company's say the difference clearly. Ram actually is way better at it here's a chart as configured so you know exactly what it is. Toyota sells cars as packages so nothing to add on just pick a cab a trim and a model. Sr sr5 trd sport trd off road. Hybrid non hybrid. It is very miss leading the only way to truly know is to look at the door sticker or owners manual. Which you don't get till you buy it.

Look at it this way you order the truck online based off the information you do the paperwork pay money then before you leave you find out no they lied. How pissed off will you be?

Dealer said it was safe to overload it as Toyota has reserves built in.... looking at the parts under the truck it's very much not a good idea to do that. Compare a comercial truck to this one there are reasons why they carry more weight and its thicker metal and beefier parts. It doesn't mean it won't work for some people it just be clear so people know what they're getting can pick the best option to suit their need. If you need payload and you know 2wd can haul more you might buy it for that. If you need a locker and 4x4 you will be OK with less payload it's all about how you use a tool for the job. Moving just people around you might not care about towing or payload. Sell the wrong truck to people and they get upset.

I was told 825kg of payload turns out was 625kg was pissed off about being miss led. OK that's Toyota fault not the dealer I can see how the dealer wouldn't of known that. Was told it's a 6ft6 bed on the back it's 5.5ft. That is a huge deal for me because things don't fit Ina 5.5 bed living about that caused me to speak to a lawyer about it. Said it's 66 so 6ft6 I asked muttiple times as I will not buy a 5.5 bed. I said it at least 5 times no 5ft bed I need longer I will take a smaller cab over a smaller bed size I want longer I don't have parking issues were I live I have a large driveway. 19.5ft vs 20 4ft I would take the 20.4 no problem for the longer box heck I said 6ft 5 or even a 8ft box is fine just no 5.5ft box it's to small. What did they do they mis lead me and sold a 5.5ft box. I feel like I got scared by Toyota head office and also by the dealer.

Telling me it's safe to drive overloaded wouldn't go well for them I court that advise is a big issue as people can get hurt or killed over doing something stupid like that honestly I think all car company's scam people all of them lie all of them abuse there customers it's not brand specific.

I got told by ford mo warrenty on stuff that's covered under warrenty got yelled at by the service person I didn't yell or argue back. Was told should've bought a real truck and I said yah not a ford as they build shit. 28 000kms and the ptu was failing smelt like propane at 520kms on the road bound up and was locking up threw a code. They did nothing just said it's fine drive it. Sitting and waiting fir service and listening to them scam customers car sales in Canada are extremely slimy. It's better to lie to a customer and let it blow up outside of warrenty then to fix it since Ford doesn't pay much . That was suburban ford on vancouver island. Island ford was saying sign a refundable deposit forum while it says no one here said that on it. I even heard someone arguing with them about it since they sold the car they ordered and wouldn't refund the deposit and they even said see you just told him that. I gave her my number to say I witnessed it they refunded the deposit and I walked out with cash in hand to buy a new truck went to another dealer got more honest service had a bad experience with the maintenance staff was going to trade it in and buy bigger after that never will buy anything ford went to toyota traded it in bought a tundra was told false information and you can see why people might get pissed off about car dealerships.

To be fair I think the sales lady made a honest mistake. I think toyota screwed up on the website for phones displaying the comparison. The service department at that dealership is still crap. Westwood Toyota in Pitt Meadows. My father bought a camera hybrid it burned oil to zero left by the oil change. Was told even with the extended warrenty that it was normal and not covered. He was sent a letter a month later saying a taxi company wants your car trade it in so he did. I was told off when I asked at the service desk they were rude and aggressive to me.
    .
Spending money on lawyers and sueing for damages for me isn't off the table as I really don't like being lied to and mis lead treat me poorly when I was taking in my father's car I remembered that. Lie about the bed size when I said I'm buying a truck for the bed size only as I need the truck bed to fit things. I contacted my lawyer and I let them know I want to get the right truck if I got to drag it through the courts I'm no opposed to spending more then the truck on lawyers. I've spent over alot on lawyers before and I'm not opposed to dragging it all the way to court I'm going to see what they suggest or offer to fix it first you have to give them a honest opportunity to fix the problem. Which is why I'm trying to find Toyota head office number to show them the mistake on the website.

I might have to just goto another dealership order the right truck take another loss on the taxs and sue for the difference agianst the dealership. They gave me one key after signing then wrote on the paperwork 1 key and they will mail the second key to me..... was never told at any point only 1 key was told there is a key shortage. Writing it on top after someone signed very slimy.
