I am going 3.5 hours away Saturday to see in person and hopefully sign the paperwork. I wanted to take advantage of Toyota financing deal which ends Monday. I’ve been working online with dealers all week and it looks like it’s happening.

I’m so excited! 2024 Blueprint Platinum. Tri fold Tonneau cover and Predator step sides. Non hybrid.

I’m trading in my 21 Tacoma TRD with custom embroidered Clazzio seat covers. I’m going to have check the Tacoma forums to see if anyone wants those.

I was looking real hard at a new hybrid. My Taco lease is up mid April. My wife doesn’t enjoy the comfort in my Tacoma so it became a weekend ride for me. My wife actually suggested we might want to switch and actually use it more for long trips and have more space and luxury. I have 2 grandkids on the way, so the bigger truck makes sense. The only off-road driving I do is is my tree stand across farmland.

it really came down to “what do I really want a truck for?” And at 53 years old…..I don’t need a go anywhere off roader which tends to be the Tacoma direction. I realized I wanted to spoil myself with more luxury in my truck.

not going to lie. I really like the new Tacos still!

I’m getting a hard Tonneau cover and Predator side steps on it. It should look pretty with the TRD off road package (available on ‘24)

I also told them the fake engine noise will have to be disabled because I not listening to that crap for the whole 3.5 hour drive home. I paid for turbos, and I want to hear them.

cold air intakes in the future???

Congrats! I do took advantage of the APR offer Toyota has going on currently. They did extend it after the date listed in January to March 4th, so I’m curious to see if they extend it again. I also moved over from a trd pro Tacoma. Loved that truck but with a toddler and black lab, it wasn’t working for our family anymore. Excited to take the tundra on road trips now as the space is amazing. There is so much room for everyone to spread out. As for the fake engine noise, it really isn’t as bad as everyone says it is. At highway speeds you don’t hear it unless you get on the gas. I only have around 550 miles on my truck so far so we will see how I feel about it in the future. You definitely are making a good choice! Love the colors that are different and you don’t see every day.

As far as I know the rate ends on the 4th. It’s why I had to push for it all to get done Saturday to get the “special rate” were are currently off $1000 buck on my trade and I have to decide how firm I’m going to be about that. I don’t super love my salesman. I think he thinks he’s slick. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Don't take any sh!t off that salesman.
Never let him see the 'want' in your eyes.
If you drove back home in your Taco it's not the worst thing to ever happen and make sure he knows that.
You've got the upper hand, but at 53 you probably already know all this.
Or maybe not since you are leasing vehicles.:boink:

Good luck and welcome to the forum...

I have a company vehicle so I only used the Taco on weekends. Lease payments were dirt cheap. I didn’t do too bad on the lease. It started just before Covid and vehicles prices went way up. But, I have no desire to do it again. I’m 53 and still able to learn a lesson, lol

That doesn’t bother me. I drive a Silverado work truck with a windowless tool box topper for work. It does have front and rear park assist cameras tho. Now I’ll have a lot of assist cameras. I can parallel park a freight train.

the tundra is not as bad to park as people say it is. I have the crewmax long bed and everything I read was it was a pain to drive around and park. I have had zero issues. But I also will back in if I think it’s tight or park pretty far away as the truck either sticks out of the spot or has the bed overlapping the spot behind. But it really is no issue parking.

Everything went super smooth today and I have my new Tundra Platinum home. Of course I immediately got called into work for an urgent matter so I haven’t had time to play with it much, other that to bond with it for the 3.5 hour drive home. Pics tomorrow.. I love it! I’m so happy with my decision.

my salesman turned out to be a very nice guy. I understand their hands are tied by what managers tell them their responses should be. I apologized for taking a hard line with him, but sorry, not sorry. Ultimately I have to look out for me.

    “Oh what a feeling “

I guess people play the game of negotiation by you give, I give, back and forth. I find that a waste of time. “This is what I want. Can you do it? A simple yes or no. I’ll find someone else that might or sign. It’s really quite simple. So yes, (@1lowlife ) 53 years has given me experience that is essentially “let’s cut the games and get right to it.”

I'm glad you got what you wanted on your terms.
It took me a lifetime to be able to get that done.:D

I can't stand the "how much do you want to pay a month', or 'how long a term do you want' bullshit.
I need a bottom line; my trade-in amount, my purchase amount, and my interest rate.
My last 2 Tundras were 0% financing, I wouldn't buy a new one without it.
If 0% financing doesn't come back, I won't be buying new.
With that, I paid more a month due and paid them off early.

I plan to keep my 2014 as long as possible, I dread the day I have to buy another one.
But by then it will probably be a lightly used 2029 or 2030, I doubt I'll ever buy new again.

Congratulations @BigTrout on your new rig! Can't wait to see what you brought home!

I was actually wondering earlier if you were going to get the deal done today. <grin>

@1lowlife there is no such thing as "gently used" - those are the turds that were unloaded back on to the dealer to get rid of whatever lemon-bugs plagued that vehicle. Speaking for me personally I'll only go new and will take the depreciation hit willingly to avoid the issues the first owner dumped. Or... I will be the one dumping the turd on the dealer to fob off on someone else.

Here it is. I think the TRD trim on the Blueprint is beautiful! I also love the stitching of the upholstery and the blue ambient leds of the interior. It all ties together nicely. I thought I wanted a 1794 because that saddle brown leather looked luxurious, but I found it a little too western for my personality. I didn’t care the chrome trim either. This platinum checked all my boxes and I love it!

Good looking truck! I saw a lunar rock platinum with the off road package on the highway the other day and that package does look sweet on the platinum. I am a huge fan of the saddle brown interior on the 1794 but not the chrome. Glad you were able to make it work and not get the runaround with the dealer. Nothing worse than a dealer who plays games.

Hello Everybody! I just joined the forum and bought my second Tundra two weeks ago. I got a loaded Limited with TRD Off Road package in Blueprint. It basically has all the Platinum options (minus the badges). I LOVE IT! Just finished putting in the 1.75" leveling kit.

    Good for you..
Not every low-mileage used vehicle is a 'lemon-bug plagued turd' as you call it.
Not everyone is an asshole believe it or not..
Some people just got in over their heads buying new and can't afford to keep it.
I'd dare think that is a lot more common than your turd story, especially with the idiots that have $1K vehicle payments.
Besides that, even new turd vehicles have warranties.

If you can justify spending $80K for a pickup, more power to you.
I'm not going to do it, unless I can pay cash for it..
