so i made a post the other day trying to get some information so i can figure out some ideas on how to add some more lift to my truck. i already have the zone 5” on my truck and just wondering if there’s anything else i can do to add another 2” to 3” or not? TIA

Anything higher and you’ll need a bracket lift so that your CV axles are not at risk of blowing up at such extreme angles.

i was already considering a drop kit, but regardless of that, is there anything i can add to increase the lift of the suspension without a completely new kit?

Bigger tires but other than that no, not without damaging CV axles.

As you lift the truck higher the distance between the front differential and the wheel hub increases placing the CV axle in a very steep angle and it would be very close to binding if not already. You’d probably drive off your driveway and snap a CV axle.

You could lift the rear though and get some rake action.

Are you going for looks or planning to wheel the truck?

so no aftermarket upper control arm or coach builder shims would help? i understand the distance i create between the dif/cv axles but i’m asking what suspension parts could i add to the front to add lift. i have a diff drop kit i can buy.

You can try adding spacers. And/Or increase the amount of preload on your springs.

20x12 -44 offset and 35x12.50 tires but i planned on getting 37x12.50 or bigger depending on if/when i upgrade wheels as well.

so i was thinking spacers for sure, and i’m guessing you have to take your shocks/struts to a specialty shop to do the preload on them?

Just wondering if you ever upgraded your lift? I have the same lift kit since 2014. Looking to go a little higher and upgrade the suspension shocks.

I swapped out shackles to CB and used CB shims up front with my Zone and got about 1.5" more out of it with no issues.

1.5 more would be perfect. Were you able to do this at home? If so what tools were needed?

Slap a body lift on it. Cheap and (kind of) easy. You get 2.5-3” of lift. I’m not a big fan myself of them, but if it’s lift you seek… can be added regardless of current suspension setup.

I think I’ll stay away from body lifts. Heard bad things about them.

Worse than adding spacers to a bracket lift for that extra 1" or two? They are all bad ideas to be honest. But if it's just the look, then they are all workable solutions.
