Hey what’s up guys. Got my Tundra a couple of months ago and have been on the forum browsing since I got her.

She’s been in Florida all her life 0 rust on the frame and got her at 165k miles. As of today she’s been all across the state as a weekend warrior now with 171k moving my amps and drummers equipment from show to show. No issues whatsoever Plan on getting a small trailer possibly in the future for small east coast runs.

Had the truck looked over the day after I got it and they told me I needed to replace the rack and pinion as well as the timing chain gasket. I’m working on getting the parts to replace the issues and want to also take care of the ball joints and maybe upgrade the break system while I’m at it. I have access to a lift as long as I bring beer, what should I do to her?

Welcome from OKC! Start with drain and refill all the fluids. Ball joints, u joints, thermostat, belts, hoses, water pump, maybe a battery, maybe brake pads, maybe adjust or repair parking brake, fuel filter if your truck has one on the frame rail. probably wiper blades, probably radiator cap, maybe tires, if budget permits an alternator, fuel pump, and starter wouldn't be bad if you want dependable transportation, maybe tie rod ends, steering rack bushings, clean ac condenser and put 1/4" hardware cloth behind the grill to keep the bugs out of the condenser. That's a start if you want a solid dependable truck and keep your used but still working parts for backup.
