    Long story long.. purchased my 3rd tundra back in October 2023. It is a 2021 double cab long bed. Was getting close to completing most of the upgrades I had planned;
    RCI skid plate
    Dirty deeds exhaust
    Are shell
    OME BP-51 lift
    Black rhino armory wheels
Luverne wheel to wheel running boards

Was on my way to work and when an impatient driver tried to pass on a one lane highway .. he hit ice and pit maneuvered me off a 20’ embankment at 50 ish mph. My truck stayed on its wheels thankfully ..but broke my pelvis and fractured my back. Crazy thing was no airbags deployed. The responding officer visited me in the hospital and his first question was about the OME shocks haha (he was a tundra guy).

I should know if the insurance company is going to total it soon. I will update when I hear about it. I think it’s going to be a total loss.. bummer for sure.. I loved this truck

First off, I’m glad you’re still here with us! Scary stuff. Trucks can be replaced; we can’t.

Unfortunately, looking at how far that front wheel is pushed back I’d bet that they’re going to total the truck out. I’d bet some of the mounts got moved around. That’s just my amateur opinion though..

I wish you a speedy recovery.. let us know if you need anything. Have a great rest of your week

Wow, your truck did it's job! Glad you lived to tell the tale!
It really sucks losing your truck. But, it could have been far worse, obviously.
I do recommend taking off whatever aftermarket parts are salvageable, if you're able to. Obviously you're pretty banged up. Dealing with the insurance companies really, really sucks. Hopefully it goes smoothly as possible for you, and you heal up quickly.

Glad you made it out alive.

I would call that truck a total loss. Little shocked no air bags deployed as well.

Glad to hear that you are somewhat okay.
I'm also surprised that the airbag didn't deploy. Hopefully it's not totalled but it looks close. Speedy recovery and welcome from NY.

Sadly the truck is likely done but as others said it did its job. I hope you heal quickly and well. Good luck!

When I got punted off the road by another driver in my Tacoma the front airbags did not deploy even though the truck was a totaled mess and had rolled a couple of times. The side airbags deployed though and probably helped prevent some further injuries. I came away thinking that all the airbags are likely designed to not deploy very easily and possibly for good reason.

Nothing hurts like a hurt back! Hope you have a great orthopedic specialist that can get you patched up okay. Was it hit and run or did they stop?

Here's an idea for you...If your truck is totaled, which it may not be since airbags didn't blow, find out what the insurance company wants for you to buy it back at salvage price. If the price is right, you could salvage a bunch of good parts for another one provided that's what you want. Even if you rent temporary outdoor storage for a year or so, it might make good sense depending on what you want.

Did that years ago with a van. Bought a new van same model. Wrecked van sat for years and I pulled almost no parts off it. Waste of time.

Yeah, but his old "van" is covered in custom goodies he could transplant to the new one and then sell the old one in factory (but wrecked) condition for $$$. Only makes sense if the money makes sense in the deal.

This guy's camper shell alone is probably worth about 60% percent or so of salvage value depending on his truck mileage. Throw in some suspension and rims, it's a deal. The rest is gravy! Can't lose if he wants to replace it and is willing to turn a wrench.

The truck definitely did it’s job. Very grateful. Overall I’m feeling great all things considered. Good amount of pain but no surgeries.. I had a back injury 20ish years ago so I know it’s a long recovery.

The other driver rolled a handful of times. I know he was pretty messed up but made it.

I’ll definitely try and get what I can off of the truck. This is my first time dealing with insurance companies in a situation like this and I am not a fan so say the least.

Side note; THANK YOU TO EVERYONE on this whole forum .. I’ve spent hours and hours researching and finding out exactly what I wanted to do to my truck.. Tons of knowledge here. I’m a new member and just signed up last week and was planning on sharing everything I did on my build..

    I'm going to say no.

I got into an accident couple years ago. Dumb ass tried to make a right turn from the left shoulder.

Air bags didn't go. No frame damage but pretty much everything cosmetic from both doors up was replaced. Was still under what my 2019 was worth.

Couldn't he remove all the aftermarket parts before turning into insurance company?

As other have already said, really glad your still here to tell the tale. The truck, well that's another story because it really depends on if anything structural was bent. Let us know where you're at, maybe we can offer to help get some of the parts off for you. I would bet there are members in your area willing to help.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I don't think it's salvaged. I can't imagine it would cost more to repair that than the truck is worth. I'd fight for it, then fight for diminished value.

But, I am glad you survived. Thats the primary thing.
