I am installing this kit this coming weekend. Looking at the install, I see that the amp rack screws into the floorboard with supplied drywall screws. Do those screw go through the metal floor pan or just into the carpet?

Pretty much. There are a couple of holes that you could probably use with bolts instead, but mine zipped right down.

I used the sticky side of Velcro to hold it to the carpet.

Pretty sure it went thru the metal. It grabbed like it did, but I was surprised that a drywall screw would be able to act as a self-tapping with not a lot of pressure.

Thanks guys. With that amp, if I wanted to replace the door speakers, are they 2 or 4 ohm speakers?

Dual Magnaflow exhaust, Bakflip MX4, Taylor's Audio amp, speakers and subwoofer for Tundra JBL.
For those of you who have the DSP4086 amp kit from James how long did delivery take from the time you bought it? I ordered one and was curious

How much did this amp help with the OEM speakers?
I upgraded to the JBL Club Box from Taylor and still wanting more.
Will this amp help with the punch as well as all other speakers?

    Any issues at all?

I keep getting this crackling sound on the driver's rear door, I bought JL 10" subs, Hertz door speakers and the amp kit, I install sub and amp first cause time was short, noticed the crackling sound but didn't hear back on the issue, then finally swap out the door speakers, still getting the crackling.

to be honest, its driving me nuts.

It added a lot of depth to the other speakers and made the sub sound like a sub. No regrets.

Have you guys played with the gains on the amp? James said he preset it but I feel like there should be a bit “more” to it.

Reading other threads, several have gone in and added mid back to the doors. I will do that on mine when I do the post-hunting season deep clean.

I’d have to go and look at the amp. I didn’t really mess with it.

You download the JBL software to a Windows-based laptop and connect it to the amp with the included usb cable. Be sure to save the setup that James programmed it with as a backup before starting. Details on the different settings:

I got into mine and changed the crossover and eq settings for all the speakers to sound better (at least to me). The video @morgaj1 posted is pretty good at explaining the setup.

What are the following settings on your guys amps?

Low Hi 1 or Hi2 ? Also is it on Rem DC or Audio?

I asked James to confirm these almost 2 years ago and never got an answer.

I spent almost 5 hours chasing every single wire and finally found the culprit, I highly recommend folks with this kit keep an eye on the connectors.

At a glance, everything seems ok, then I noticed the green wires were held on by one strand on the negative side, after a close inspection, 2 more plugs were held on barely, strip them and tighten them down and noise was gone.
