What did you coat the a-pillar garnish with for that camo look? Hydro-dip? Also do you have a parts list in case I decide to go this route?

Degeaser and then soap and water. Along with a Scotchbrite pad and the appropriate amount of elbow grease.

That's one of the reason they removed the handles in 2014. Small overlap crash testing showed that the driver could drive hit brain into the grab handle.

As already mentioned, 409 works well. I had some of the black smudge at the bottom as well and a little brake clean on a rag took it off.

So is it no longer an issue on the 2022+ trucks?

I have read that multiple times but have never seen a source supporting the claim, just a lot of supposition and inference. Would love to see anything that verifies it.

I called Berlin City Toyota of Manchester NH last fall and gave them the part numbers noted above. Had my grab handle installed within about 10 days. Don't remember exactly how much? Cheaper than the sparks kit, more expensive than a salvage yard..

i heard they removed the handle due to visibility, but I don’t have a source for that claim, just something I heard.

Toyota resigned the grab handle and the whole truck in 2022.

I don't mean to harsh on you, but I really hate it when someone on the internet says "I heard...". Heard what exactly?. From whom exactly? It always comes cross as akin to knitting circle gossip.

And visibility? That makes even less sense. The handle is in front of the pillar. It doesn't block your field of view at all.

I understood that Toyota knew that the offset crash testing was something that the IIHS was going to test and removed the handle to keep their good crash test rating. The IIHS started doing offset crash testing on the passenger side but Toyota never removed the handle and the passenger crash test rating went to poor. In the video you can see the the dummy's head strikes the handle. I suspect that the handle was never removed because the truck was being redesigned for 2022 and it was cost prohibitive to retest an outgoing model.

My bad, it’s been a while since I heard that claim so I don’t remember where/who it came from. I didn’t mean to cause a stir.

I am with y'all and also don't like perpetuating rumors. I had a hard time myself visualizing how it's possible but the guy I know wouldn't make it up and the damage to him is obvious.
I had to sit in my driver seat and see if I got into a wreck is it even possible to hit the corner of my skull on the handle and the answer was surprisingly yes. Ive sat near the guy at church for about 10 years but aren't BFFs. He was pretty bad but still has some cognitive issues and it's been at least a year or more since the crash.

As far as parts, I had an OEM handle and pillar already so I just had to cut it up, already wrapped roof in suede so I just had to wrap the pillars.i bought the paracord handle from YOTA TWINS. I think the nylon handle feels better in my hand and I constantly yank on it and expect it to "give", as in slide loose or rip or something but it hasn't yet. TBH I don't really "love" how it looks but it actually works well and it doesn't make me worry when I look at them.

Cut at lines so that I can use handle base mounts to attach custom handles.

I found where I originally “heard” this information
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/driver-side-door-handle-help-getting-in.75780/

Posts #17, 18, and 21.Also when I originally mentioned it, I did so because I treat this forum like I would just talking with friends sitting around having a discussion.

Perfect. I'll take one set, then. I'm in Arizona, will $90 shipped work for you? If so, what is your payment preference?

Can anyone with a 21 TRD pro in Lunar Rock verify what color they call the A Pillar? It looks like an off white beige to me. If it’s gray, I will definitely be in for the remaining A pillar/handle. Just trying to verify the color.

Not sustainable mate. Did you see the shipping they're charging? $149 for 2 pieces less that 1 Kg.

Was there another shipping option besides FedEx priority?

@Bdk437 did not post anything about the method of shipping, just that it, plus the $38.77 cost of the item, came to $54.

Full disclosure, I have been skeptical from the start, but remain hopeful.

Shipping to the USA for both is about $40. Not sure what country you’re from but I would complain… This is not something you can bitch at me about. It’s a company that had stock not run by me.

I am not bitching at you partner, just letting everyone know about my experience. And just like you I am from the country of Texas :)

And no @seydou there was no other shipping option. I even emailed them for a cheaper option and they said that's all they have. So I am curious how @Bdk437 got such a nice deal on shipping :) Maybe you can order it for me?

I realize its a different vehicle, but the Sequoia never lost the driver side grab handle like the Tundra. I would think visibility and frontal crash test ratings would be very similar between the two vehicles.
