So I was finally building up the courage to either replace the lower control arm on my 15 Tundra or or just replacing the bushings, and after watching many videos about this, one of the guys mentioned the cam tab gussets. Not exactly sure what they are used for, but now I’m afraid I’ll take the bolt out and not put the gussets back in correctly.
Is there a wrong or right way to put the gussets back in? Should I make a mark on the gusset and frame with a white marker to just place it back in the original position?
    Thanks

So, just to clarify, you are aware the cam tab gussets are welded onto the frame?

They are designed to keep the alignment true during harsh driving conditions, but are a good idea for even mild off-roading with how weak the factory alignment tabs are.

I think what you may actually be referring to are the actual alignment cams themselves, which you CAN mark prior to removal and get the alignment close, if not perfect on reinstallation.

No, I wasn’t aware. Never heard of this part actually. So the gussets will be welded, but the metal circle like thing, will come of, and those are the ones that I should mark to get the alignment as close as possible?

Yep! Just like that. And you’ll see when you take everything off, it’s pretty easy to put back together. You can always take some pictures as you take the alignment cams out too so you can reference them when putting it back together.
