Fist time posting. So I got a 2000 tundra v8 2wd access cab that needs lbj I was doing some research that the 05 tundra ball joints are bigger. I know that if I do switch to the 05 I'm going to have to replace the spindle, and lower control arm (maybe tie rods not sure). The 05 Upper ball joint with spindle should fit in the upper control arm if I'm not wrong. Also would the 05 lower control arm fit in place of the 2000? Really beat on my vehicles so wouldn't mind doing all the work for the bigger ball joints. May seem stupid, or not any help would be appreciated.

Whatever you do, make sure you get OEM balljoints. The #BalljointFail hashtag is floating around here for a reason. Those who don't go OEM usually end up with a catastrophic failure.

while i have not been able to confirm it, i do believe the 05 control arms will bolt to an older frame. but as you said. lowers, joints, and spindles needed.

    the uppers are the same.

@Mr.silver02 Come back and post pics of your successful install. I think this is probably interesting for others.

Doesn't Solo Motorsports use the same LCA from 2000-2006? I think so - in that case it would confirm same size.

@Mr.silver02 here's the exploded parts page for my '06 AC 4WD if it helps dig up part numbers: https://parts.toyota.com/a/Toyota_2...T-AXLE-ARM--STEERING-KNUCKLE/841420-4802.html

I might be missing whether your truck is 2WD/4WD, and what cab type. But that parts page may include for all models, not 100% sure. Don't let the MSRP shown at the Parts site fool you, once you choose a dealership to ship/pickup, a discount is usually applied (sometimes a handsome one). Try a few different dealership choices, since each individual dealer has the ability to increase/decrease the discount amount. Some offer 0%, others may offer 30%.

I was looking around as well the solo motorsports only ask for the type of ball joint style, thinking they should fit. Hopefully going to slowly get parts for mine, will update when i ever get around it.

Hey guys I just got everything finished all that was needed was 04-06 spindles, lower control arms, outter tie rods, lowerball joints, and the caliper bolts off the 04-06. I ran the 00-03 bolt on mine and they bottomed out with about an eight of an inch. Everything drives good just need some abs sensors to plug them up because my truck doesnt have abs.

You can weld close the ABS sensor holes. Another easy option is to cut out a small foam plug and jam it down into the sensor hole about 3/4” deep. Then fill the hole the rest of the way up with gray or black RTV.
