Anyone installed a RSI Smartcap with the decked system on a CM? I am looking to purchase both and don't mind the wait. Wondering if there's any modifications that had to be made regarding fitment and install. Also any pics of the RSI and decked together would be much appreciated!

The Decked sits below the rails while the Cap sits on the rails so I am not seeing how they interfere of influence each other in any way at all?

    Thanks for the reply ezdog!

I’m new to Tundras. Been a Ford guy my whole life and finally bit the bullet on a Toyota. The reason I ask, is because I read this forum and saw all the modifications they had to make to make the two work
    https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/rsi-smartcap-new-product.9375/page-4

….before you ask. Yes I know this was done on a newer model Ranger and not a Tundra.

Just want to be sure I won’t run into any issues like this, because I don’t want buy something that expensive and have to start cutting and grinding away to make the two mesh. I’d prefer assembling and dropping in.

Anyone on here have the RSI/Decked set up that can chime in?

I don’t have a Decked system, yet. But here’s the bed with the RSI and Bedrug installed. Not sure any mods would have to be done other than maybe removing the Bedrug.

And this one does seem to use just standard clamps to install the cap and not brackets as pictured in that Ranger link.
This is what I imagined when posting my reply and if yours is like this then I can not imagine any issues as the Decked should not need anywhere above its surface for mounting.

Since neither company make anything for my Long Bed though I will never know for sure!

How long have you had RSI? Any regrets or recommendations after purchase?

I’ve had it about 6 weeks and love it. My only bit of advice is be patient, and I’d buy from a local dealer if I were you, not an online retailer. Mine showed up with a dent in the roof panel thanks to the shipping company, but RSI is making it right sending a replacement. Just have to wait for the next boat to arrive in a couple months. But damn, I do love this cap!

Glad to hear it! I finally decided on RSI after a month of researching every cap you can think of. Was real close to Leer 100xr and ARE Z but no single company gave me all the options I wanted. Each had their pros and cons but I think the durability, roof load capacity, and functionality of the RSI is likely far superior from what I've read. As far as options (lighting/rod holders/carpet/remote locks etc.) I think I can fabricate or add most of what I wanted offered by fiberglass competitors. If you end up modding you cap let me know. I'm always open to new ideas.

I have the decked drawers with smartcap on a 2019 CM. Wanted to upload photos for anyone that comes across this thread. Still plenty of room on top of the drawers for cargo and dog headroom.
