Looking at Crewmax TRD models. Is it me or is the Sport model lower in the front than the OR? My eyes lol?

Yes, it’s lower by design as listed in the specs

Somewhere around 1/2 to 3/4" lower on the sport depending on what you read. I swear mi e looks lower than that but fixing that tomorrow!

Sucks. I'm torn. I prefer the Sport wheels but want the rear locker. The height thing may be the deciding factor. Is it lower in the front and back?

Just the front. I actually like the black trd offroad wheels better, personally.

Keep in mind, you can change the wheels much easier than adding a locker. I got the TRD Sport since 99% of my time is hauling on the road.
If you think you would ever need/want the rear locker, that might be the deciding factor. Also the Sport height can be adjusted with a little 1" collar spacer if you want.

I gave my dealer some specs on what I'd prefer. Ideally I can upgrade the Off Road to the 20" rims but if he comes back with a Sport that I like I may go that route. The Sport also doesn't have the chrome like most of the OR models I've been seeing. Definitely agree that the locker is a no brainer. We have a lot of land and I do trek through tough spots in my gen 2 Tacoma Sport. It's got a lift and 33s and 200k on it so if I'm going to be in any situation where I need a locker I probably wouldn't take the Tundra. I'm in RI so our roads are basically unfit for anything other than an SUV or truck.

If your roads are that bad why would you run 20" wheels? Run 18s so the extra sidewalk deadens the crappy roads more.

Yeah that's why I was fine with getting a TRD Sport since it checked the other boxes (color, premium/convenience package, price) back when it was almost impossible to find a 3rd gen on a lot. I've since added and changed things to how I want it and it's plenty capable. I'll wait for an aftermarket locker that can engage in 2H/4H.

Honestly I still enjoy driving it every time. I've had no major issues so far with 20k miles but a few little things like the paint wear in the tailgate corners(got it repainted under warranty) and a clicking sound in my door panel while driving when its really cold (going to just open it up one of these days). Did the TSB's and fuel line recall just to be safe.
