I have search all over for the answer for this. I have a 21 TRD Pro with push button start. I am really wanting an option for spare key that is not a smart key. It appears the immobilizer has two different mechanisms that allow the truck to start; the RF transmitter in the wireless key and a normal chip embedded in the remote that can be help up to the push button to start the truck when the key battery is dead. Has anyone tried to program a "G" or "H" chipped key to a push button start? Looking at pictures of the circuit board, there is a strong possibility that Toyota just put a normal key chip in their remotes as a backup for the dead battery situation. Any experiences or circuit diagrams of the key fob out there?

Don't know if it helps but I recall reading a post about a credit card key that you program. I think it's off a Lexus. I'm sure searching on here you might find the post if that's something that would help.

You can turn off the fob, and stash it on the truck. It's what I did.
