Thanks! This was like pre or I guess the start of a lot of my diy “I can make that” phase of my life at like 26 or 28 maybe? I’ve grown and learned a lot since then; but that’s where I learned a lot of my soldering skills in tight places.

 

Saying all OE provider parts are different isn’t really true. I’m sure some parts are tested or built to a slightly different standard but not all parts. Informing others of the specifics that you’re aware of is the best way to go so others know what to look out for when buying replacements.

so can you provide evidence for your claims? Or just “hear say” from a mechanic from the 90’s? Like pictures or evidence of aisin belts failing? Or something from their company website stating that they don’t meet the same standards as OEM?

these trucks aren’t new and lot of parts have been tried and tested by multiple owners w/ part#’s being provided so other owners can ensure a good experience as well.

I been hearing about counterfeit parts online.
I bought an Aisin TBWP kit from eBay or Amazon 50k miles ago and already had to have it replaced. The water pump was leaking.

Whats the dealership cost?

is this the 'good' kit? Because $217 seems pretty fair for what you get.

dealership isnt too expensive. I didnt find the water pump, and dont know why they break things down into sub assemblies, but they dont tell you anything on the website about what comes from where.

I got the screw out, but can't seem to get the plastic in done. Afraid I'm going to mangle it.

Are yours aftermarket housings? Mine are aftermarket and they pop out much easier than the originals did.

 

the passenger is OE? I never replaced that one. But drivers side is aftermarket and it stays. Lol

my last aisin timing belt and water pump lasted over 75k miles…….soooo riddle me that….

 

A/c compressors are rebuildable. My dad did it for 30 years.
