Do you sleep on the rear floor or something? I could see it being a problem then.

The rear floor of my truck—hump and all—still holds everything I need it to. Hunting gear, bow, rifles, tools, boots, bags, Planos. It's also nice to toss power tools and batteries in one of the footwells and know they're not going to slide around on me.

Seems a bit hyperbolic to call it “useless”. I think people just don’t like the way it looks. Or they have three super tall kids. :notsure:

One situation that comes up surprisingly often for me is moving large displays or TVs. On the flat floor, it's easy - just set them there and you're good to go. With a big hump, it's more challenging since you don't want it rocking back and forth on that. The cat carrier is another one. It would be too big to fit in a footwell with a hump, but it fit on my flat floor just fine. I have a big Makita toolbag too, and while that doesn't need to sit flat it's nice that it can.

I don't have dogs, but I know people with them and they like Ford and Ram crew cabs because they can fit the whole dog crate on the back floor since it's flat and open.

I have Husky liners - they have just enough grip to stop things from sliding.

Previous gen owners howled about not having underseat storage and aftermarket options were everywhere.

Toyota, damned if they do or don't.

Yeah. I am very impressed with the under seat storage in my CC. As far as the hump, well growing up that’s what every car had almost (back when we drove boats) and it’s not a deal breaker to me. In fact I never even knew that was a thing until I joined this forum. I am sure it’s one of those things that once you have it, you can’t live without it, IDK.

“…just set them there and go.”

    Exactly. There is no challenge.

I’ve carried a dog kennel, a TV (I guess I did spend 0.3 seconds pushing it to one side so it didn’t teeter), several guitars at once, and tool bags and cases that are too big to fit in one footwell, too.

I maintain that the problem is merely visual unless you’re trying to sleep there or have a kid who is annoyed having his feet straddle the hump.
I often use the backseat for things I need to keep climate controlled.

Beefier connecting rods in the 1st Gen 2UZ. Why, cause I wanna put an eBay chingchong wututu boi on it. Strictly for tow and hauling reasons. Also turbo noises

Would be nice to be able to change the headlight bulbs without performing open heart surgery on the front half of the truck.

Its called a Hilux, you can import them from Europe lol. Also I have a buddy in NH hes not on the forum ive tried, but he 4BT swapped his 2.5gen after his motor decided it didint need cylinders 4 6 and 7 anymore. Sourcing a transmission was a night mare, and no clue what his rear end gearing is.

So true! While I don’t miss the plastic leaky oil pan of my F150, I do miss the interior!

I was waiting for 25MY MMC speculation thread but I’ll play.
Realistic upgrades not V8s and tow hooks talk.
    • 2400W inverter
    • Bed scene lightning
    • OEM accessory wheel (cmon!!)
    • White interior backlighting not light blue most MMC Toyotas are now white backlit
    • USB C data port. 22M Tundra is the only new media OS using USB A. 22M Lexus NX and above uses USB C
    • Working wireless charger (probably won’t happen since 3rd gen Taco carried over same supplier its lifespan)
Per some members here few of these are possible.

Stop treating us like Renters by charging us monthly for standard vehicle operations. Including these services for life would go a hell of a long way with buyers and show us how much you stand behind not only your vehicles but your loyal customers. Step Up Toyota!! Better designed cup holders. In step bumper to make it easier to get in and out of bed.

I am not putting an LED TV in the bed without a box (not supposed to lay them down). Or the cat.

    Some small tiny things

    1. 400W bed power - Let it be 400W while driving
    2. Illuminate the door lock unlock and other switches on the door
    3. Redesign the cover for the 120V - Right now you cannot fit any "power brick" have to use extension cable as the brick hits against the cover and cannot stay in and most laptops come with bricks, not small 2 prong/3 prong plugs
    4. For hybrid add 4WG battery connection poles (with a 100A fuse) inside the engine bay so I don't have to wire lights and stuff from under the seat
    5. 30A DC 12V XT60/90 type plug in the bed.

You are correct. Only reason I use the key fob is for remote start from inside or if I send my kid out to get something from the truck.
