Got a 8' bed 2023. I had the same dilema. There is one company that makes a solid long step......and you can cut them down to size. Almost bought these: https://www.luvernetruck.com/

Recently discovered that the motorized running boards on a 6.5 bed....are actually quite long and the 2023 truck gets 3 brackets. Steps are strong...can hold 600lbs. AND the step is long enough to provide a step into the back of the bed from the side of the truck..... the go rhino is much better than the amp one. I tested them for my weight on a friends trucks.....they are solid.

Gonna order the step this year...and will be the last mod on my truck.....
