Good day to all. I am a brand new Owner 2024 Tundra Platinum TRD
so i want to vent a bit i was looking for this truck every where had one on order and was told 5 to 6 months. so i found on in a dealer in Minneapolis . Had just about everything i wanted.

So on the door sticker it says " TRD skid plates" Plates! so nope... just one puny one under the trans that will be 550 for the TRD skid plate up front. Then there were a few scratches on the pass side they buffed one out then i was told to go spend 1200 on 3M paint protection to cover the rest!! i was pissed. Don't they detail new trucks any more? mine looked like crap i had to go home and clean all the windows. But i wanted the truck.. so i put up with it
Is there no alarm? Is there any way to get better gas millage?
Then moving things from 2015 Ford 150 there 1/2 the room in the new trucks console. Gees thanks for letting me vent folks
looking forward to looking and getting advice on accessories

The way vehicles are delivered now, sucks.
I always have to go home and clean it the way it should have been delivered.

By the time I am at that point, I just want to get out of the dealership, so they get away with it.

Did you not check things out before purchasing said vehicle? You can trade it and take your losses or live with it. One or the other?????

Rather than have Gomer the wash boy drop the towels in the gravel as he was detailing my new Tundra, I told the dealership to not wash the truck and leave the protective plastic film on and we'd inspect the paint together.

I bought a new SAAB 900 once that had been buffed to the point the paint was worn through in spots.

Never, ever, ever, let the salesman see the want in your eyes or look on your face.
You gotta act like you don't care if you get the vehicle or not, no matter how bad you want it.
If gives you more leverage in the deal.

If you don't get the vehicle, then it wasn't meant to be anyway.
There are plenty more out there, it just might take some time to find it.

It took me several purchases and years to do this myself..

I got my 2018 Tundra in January of 2018 from Thurston in Ukiah. This is the same place I bought my 2006 in August of 2006. They pamper the new vehicles before turning them over to the buyers. They have expert detailers on staff that go over every inch and make sure everything is perfect before the new owner drives away (with a full tank of gas).

Both Tundras were perfect, really appreciate the care and handling at Thurston. I did my research and came up with a configuration before going to the dealer and we worked everything out (both Tundras). Both times, they never tried to talk me into something other than what I wanted. On the 2018, it took a couple of hours to finally settle on an available Tundra that met my needs (there were only two in California at the time, one in SoCal and one in Milpitas, about 3 hours from Ukiah. Once that was settled then it was on to the price negotiation. Settled that and shook hands on it. It was a few days before the 2018 was ready for pickup, the 2006 was on the lot, so piece of cake. Couldn't be happier.
