Had a dealer quote me $3,700 to install the TRD 3" lift. Seems a bit much from others I've seen on here. He did tell me I could order the kit myself and save me about $300. That would put it in the $6,400 range for complete install. UGH! I think I will look around the DFW area more and see if I can find a better deal.

Are you sure that isn't with the lift purchase included? I'm currently in Mississippi and the local dealer quoted $4150 purchase and install..

No that was total. I calculated 2 men x 2 days so it would be about $115 hr for labor. Seemed extremely high from others I have heard from. Maybe I need to run up to Mississippi and get it installed! I'm definitely looking around to see what others in this area are charging.

From what I've read here and on Facebook, 1200-1500 average for installation. The dealer I went to was going to discount the lift to $2550 and charge $1250 for installation. I've seen people here talk about doing it by themselves in their garages in 2 days, and they don't have the tool access, lift, etc. 2 guys for 2 full days is nuts.

Installed my Dobinsons IMS kit . 3” from and 2” rear with the Dobinsons trac bar, JBA upper control arms and extended the rear brake lines and the front ones next weekend . Icon front sway bar drop and bump stops. I did it in my garage in about 8 hours taking my time . Not a hard install really except for rear springs . To aid in that I unbolted passenger side upper control arm since it hits gas tank at that drop . I had a preload collar lift before and that is a nightmare ride compared to this . Truck sits great

For me the UCA install is way more pain in the ass to install than the rear springs. Finagling with the plugs and the long bolt, very time consuming.

I had a different experience . Probably only an hour to do upper control arms but rear springs I just needed an anchor and a ratchet strap to pull down . I was lucky on passenger side , I used my leg to pull down axle and bench pressed the spring in lol

Got in Dobinson 2/1. Going to try to get them on in the next month. Anyone know if you need Dr. KDSS with just a 1inch lift in rear? Brake lines?

Good choice. With 1” I wouldn’t worry about pan hard bar correction. Extended brake lines are a good idea if you think you’ll be doing anything past medium flexing. Otherwise that kit is completely bolt on and go

Then you’re all set! Extended rear bumpstops or spring helpers will help you out with towing. That’s the only other thing I can think of

I installed the dobinsons ims 2/1” last weekend. Haven’t measured to be sure but seems more like 1 1/2” or even 2” in the rear. Brake lines and speed sensor wires need some love for sure. Super tight at full droop. I made some relocation brackets, spaced wire mounts up and tweaked stuff around until I felt good about it. I’m adding icon sway bar spacer because the links seemed a little bound even sitting on the ground. The shock performance is much preferred over my wife’s trd kit or stock.

She has the trd 3/2. It’s actually more like 2 1/2” in the front.

I might yank mine off this weekend and give it drive to see how/if it smooths a few areas out.

I've got a vibration that is driven by road feedback in very specific situations/sections of roads, usually around 40-45mph. It's occurred from the beginning from the stock suspension all the way up today. It's really not a big deal, but it's something I've chased off & on since I owned the truck. At this point, my current theory is the sway bar is amplifying this road feedback.

I've swapped various suspension components including coils and shocks, road force balanced my tires multiple times (& rotated them front to back & cross), and had the truck aligned by 2 different shops. It's not a ball joint issue so my next step is to see how it rides without the sway bar. :)

Installed Dobinsons 3/2 and set the front to 2.75 to maintain a little rake. I used the panhard bar correction kit for rear and pulled the front sway bar. Need to put it back on for safety but man does it feel nice without. Used the spring compressor attached in the link below which made installing rear springs less of a PITA.

    17x8.5 with 0 offset on 35x12.5

I need some skid plates but unsure if the talons garage plate is compatible with the icon sway bar drop kit. Looks like talons is made for the TRD lift. Talons couldn’t confirm that it will work via email.

How are was setting the ride height of the front coils? I've heard the Dobinsons are a little bit of a pain to set since (technically) you're not supposed to adjust them on the vehicle. I've read where some guys get by with supporting the front to let the tires droop and then adjusting them that way.

I want to swap out my front Icons with heavier coils and I've been close to pulling the trigger on Kings, since I can adjust them on the vehicle. However, I run a complete Dobinsons setup in the rear and I've been really impressed. My only hesitation has been setting the ride height.
