You can turn PCS off....which is pre collision. To be honest I am not sure if every trim level actually has it? Us Canadians tend to turn it off when driving in heavy snow as the snow blocks the sensors and the truck kinda freaks out.

It's part of the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) system that has been standard on every Tundra since 2018.

It didn't stop because it was from the side. The radar looks forward, not to the sides. Teslas are the only vehicles I know of incorporating the cameras around the vehicle for more advanced stopping capabilities.

It also may have started to brake, but not in time.

Yup. The owners manual has several pages detailing when PCS might not work or when it might activate when there's "no possibility of a collision."

The Tundra driver was a moron, but I think the motorcycle driver could have avoided that crash pretty easily. Hope he was OK.

    Lots of stuff!
What would we have done before TSS? The expectations of this technology to stop a collision need to be reset.

Like most things "Tundra" we need to understand that we are in perpetual beta test mode and drive like we did before autopilot. If we are too busy trying to get the fuel gauge to register or fiddling with our bass control wondering where the sub woofer went then we need to check that?

TSB rather than TSS is more like it.

We need to be paying attention while driving ;) Sorry, I just realized that I am ranting...

He had his gear on so maybe small scratches but probably good amount of bruising it sounded painful.

I’m not here to blame any of the drivers involved I’m just trying to understand why the system didn’t work. I agree it could’ve been prevented but thats life. For all we know the A pillar probably blocked the view or any medical condition that caused the delayed reaction by the drivers it could be anything.

That's a huge assumption on your part. It does not watch anything to the sides. It was outside the field of view for the sensor, so saying "the system didn't work" is silly.
