You should not have staggered the shock assemblies like that. You now have different preload on each side of the truck. Not only is that going to handle horrible and unpredictably, it’s dangerous.

I did that w/Fox 2.5 C/O's, put 40K miles on it & never had an issue or poor handling. How's it dangerous?

Always seemed wild to me. I know a lot of taco guys run offsets on the front as well

I researched and had help from a very reputable source - I have not experienced any concerns with the staggered setting and have done my best to hit bumps and small whoops at a high rate of speed; the ride is great and it leveled out damn near perfect. I chose this route instead of the "shim" route because I did not want my shock to be the bump stop or use bump stop extensions. I have been running this for about 5000 miles. All good. What do you think of the alignment specs?

Why not just do both sides at 1.3 and add the shim on the driver side. At least with the shim, both springs have the same preload on them. Bump stops won’t be any different.

As far as the alignment goes, it’s not bad. If you start to see some outer tire wear, bringing in the Toe a little will help.

I did my 6112s from Darrin @BOSS4x4s he recommended 1.9” and add some shims as the top setting would be stiffer. I’m super happy with mine. I raised the front 2.4” and set the rear shackles at +1.5” keeping a 1” rake. Love my setup.

My initial plan was 6112's at 1.9 with 2 shims drivers side and 1 shim passenger side ; 5160s rear with +2 CB shackles. After research and discussion I decided to set front at 1.3 with no shims. Got it aligned and drove for a few weeks- it settled and I had a noticeable lean. I pondered to put 1 shim on drivers side or drop passenger side to .75 setting. Ended up increasing drivers side to 1.9 -Got it aligned (specs above)- resulted in .5" rake - rear lift not needed for my application. Installed 5160s. My primary reason for the staggered settings vice the using shim(s) was (to the best of my knowledge) that adding shims could cause loss of down travel and that the shock will become the limiting strap to the LCA. Stock Tundras hit bump stops even during daily driving - pot holes... The installation of extended bump stops will prevent the shock from bottoming out but then travel is lost. This is the route I chose and it worked out well for me; with that, shims are a viable option that most go with. Perhaps I will transition to Kings in about 30000 miles or so. Cheers.

Just curious but how is changing the preload any different than loading the shocks (without shims) and having a lean. Won’t the lower (leaned side) be ‘preloaded’?

Here’s my latest results with 6112 at 2.5” with JBA UCA’s. I did something to put it out of wack in the last month so needed adjustment. Drives like a dream again.
