It seems as the "infotainment" large screen is an info- inconvenience, a major distraction! Toyota am I suppose to wait 5minutes before driving so your faulty, glitchy, buggy software decides to connect with your antiquated Bluetooth system?
2024 iForceMax TRD Limited- less than 1k miles!
    - Not to mention all the issues I'm having with the camera system!
I have a 2020 Promaster & the UConnect system connects instantly to my phone & others, NO ISSUES! How on a 2024 model the software can be so glitchy?

You should probably go talk to the dealer. Mine connects pretty much instantly and I have no other issues with cameras or anything software related.

It's such an inconvenience to take it to the dealer, I hope this is a one & done fix.

I've heard it take 5 or 6 visits to the dealer to resolve this issue.

I hardly ever use the BT connection, but it takes an average amount of time to establish connection; BT is not a high speed data exchanger. My preference is to have my phone plugged in so it stays charged at the same time, and that connection takes 15 seconds.

My Bluetooth has been working great the past year. It was intermittent in the beginning and took five minutes to connect reliably.

Of all the vehicles I've owned recently, my 2024 Tundra's infotainment is easily the best and most responsive I've interacted with. The wireless CarPlay responds instantaneously whereas previous vehicles with wired carplay are laggy and delayed.

The native infotainment is certainly not the snazziest on the market, but it works pretty well. Minus the radio tuner which is a super weird way of doing things. But luckily I basically never listen to the radio unless the wife is needing to listen to trashy country pop music.

I've had no issues connecting via bluetooth in my 2023 Tundra. It connects instantly as soon as the initial welcome screen goes away.

The radio controls are no issue for me, either. I just use voice commands and the buttons on the steering wheel to switch sources, stations, songs, etc... I rarely have to touch the screen.

My only complaint is hands-free text messaging requires you to turn the music volume down in order to hear the message being read back to you. IMO, it should automatically mute the music, like it does when receiving a call.

Interesting... I don't have to turn the radio down to hear the texts. I'm on Android.

Are you saying the music mutes automatically when texts are being read back to you, just like when you receive a call?

It definitely doesn't do that using CarPlay. If you have music playing when you receive a text, you need to turn the music down, or off, then select the text message. Otherwise the music drowns out the read back. I've gotten used to pushing the volume knob, to turn the radio off, before selecting the text message. It's a first world problem, but it's an extra step that shouldn't be necessary. Perhaps it's only a CarPlay issue.

Yup, the music mutes automagically and then starts up again once you reply or say no to replying. Just went out and tested just to make sure my Marijuana habit wasn't playing tricks on me. As far as I know I didn't change any settings to make this happen.

Hmmm...well it must be a Apple/CarPlay thing then. I recently sat in my truck and sent myself texts using my wife's cell phone. It didn't matter if I had regular AM/FM radio, Apple Music, podcasts, or whatever playing, it wouldn't mute when the texts came thru. I monkey clicked settings for at least 30 minutes on the truck and my phone with no joy.

I just purchased a 2024 Sequoia two weeks ago and I’m having the exact same issue with CarPlay. I’ve discovered that Siri also doesn’t work with the wake word. I haven’t found any other forums mentioning this for Sequoias yet. My only hope is that Toyota releases an OTA update that fixes this soon, because it’s a little more than irritating at this point.

Don’t ever buy an Audi. By far the most glitchy and annoying software known to mankind.
