    what measurements did you want?

    6112:
    Length 20.5"
    Body 2.6"
    Shaft .78"
    Groove 2.488"
    Ring OD 2.778"

    5100:
    length 24.5"
    Body 1.972"
    Shaft .4"
im not strong enough to compress & measure length at the same time.

    bmf's front reflex shocks:
    Length 20"
    Body 2.000"
    Shaft .623"

6112's and the reflex both have 5" travel. Reflex probably has non trd springs and are .675" wire, 15.25" tall with the 'ramp'. Bilstein springs are .695 wire, 15.75" tall.

the green/blue & green/yellow springs are the same height & same thickness.

i cant take my 3rd gen taco shocks apart yet, my spring compressor doesnt fit. But they're 23.5" long (everything measured from the center of the eye to the bottom of the nut, with the nut at the top, but full of threads) and the spring is made of .74 wire.

@shifty` and anyone else who wants to chime in. A while back I reported a small puddle on my driver floor board after a rain. Still haven’t gotten around to doing the cowel clips, but I had a feeling to remove the A pillar trim and everything looked good from the outside but I kept poking around and did a cardinal sin; I stuck my finger in a hole…..
And it was wet!!! At the top of the a pillar is a weird little bucket kinda thing and it had water in it, and I’m assuming silicone(clear) and old window sealant. So it’s supposed to rain again tomorrow and I’ll check to see if it’s filled up or if it’s tracking from there. You can kinda even see a water stain on part of the head liner right in that corner. Do we think this is a windshield seal issue or a gutter seal issue maybe? 2cents welcome

Yep! I see it. Definitely an a-pillar leak. I'm curious what's causing it. Looks like sticking your finger in mystery holes really paid off this time!

The roof seal should just be double-side-taped in. However, it does tuck up under the windshield surround. You can - at least *I* could - flip the tail end of the roof channel cover out od the front and rear window surround to look inside.

It’s weird, that bucket has another bucket of the same size just higher up past the headliner…….. I got my finger in there too and it was dry, and I don’t feel any drain holes in the buckets for it to somehow go into the metal channel it’s mounted on, and I don’t see and track marks on the plastic pillar cover in that area.
Yeah I’m hoping to narrow this down in the next few days, we’re getting a bunch of rain so that should help me identify it

Perhaps set up a compressed air tank to dump air while washing the truck. Plug the cab vents and check the seams with soapy water?

Got it, I edited my post after you liked it up, so check that 2nd line. I also remember PHM posting about some trim holes along his a-pillar. Let me grab that right quick, maybe it's related, assuming DC trims are same as AC.

Here you go @FrenchToasty is it possible water is coming in at one of these holes in the 1st pic? https://www.tundras.com/threads/the...ld’-a-chronological-story.46816/#post-1210455

I dunno how to pop that trim piece off. But if it's easy to do (I dunno if so), cleaning up under there and doing something similar to what PHM did could be worthwhile. I've had my doubts that may be where the infamous a-pillar leak on the DS may be coming from. It could also explain the 'no water above XYZ point' observation too.

Oh, @FrenchToasty give a really sharp look at all of your door bulb and cab bulb seals that meet up at the a-pillar too. Make sure none are torn.

I could see that being a windshield seal problem. Just remember that in AZ insurance covers free glass replacement, and I am certain that a big rock is about to, ah, get kicked up and crack your windshield.

I got an electrical box for the bed. Also got a 400w inverter to play with, and its picky about it orientation. But it works sometimes.

    IMG_5861.jpg

2 plug gfi outlet, 2 usb, 2 usb-c, pair of 12v capped posts. Need an inverter or 2 that'll fit in here. Maybe one of those fused/relayed switch blocks i wont buy for the cab...

It's 2024. The inverter is free to pick and/or change it's orientation anytime it feels like it. It is your job to accept and respect it's (or their) choice.

@FrenchToasty, I've got the same stubborn leak. The plastic buckets you speak of are part of the plastic form that shapes the headliner if I'm not mistaken. Pretty sure the water is coming in where the roof gutter seal meets the windshield surround tho.
Couple things to be aware of:
    1. water coming in from this area will run down the glass inside the pillar, and drip off of the bottom edge of the seal/flange, and right onto the back of your integrated relay. You'll know when your headlights start actin a fool, or alarm goes off for no reason, or drivers door locks stop working. At least that's what happened in my case.
    2. if water is coming in at that seal connection, then it is also growing rust that you cannot see. When the flange surrounding the windshield rusts in that corner, it will swell, and eventually create enough pressure to crack your windshield. Again, that was my experience.
oh,and... well..... I'll let you price the gutter seals yourself.

My windshield is leaking top passenger. Don’t know if I should remove windshield myself and fix/prep surface myself before having a new windshield installed.

I’m afraid if I have a windshield company do the work they are going to ignore any rust/bare metal/imperfections and that could cause future leaks and rust.

Safelite did my windshield and the tech prepped and treated the rust before installing the new glass.

Mine was leaking by the rear view mirror and when it rained hard, the water was draining out my sunglass holder. It would piss right into the cupholder, unless the truck was moving. Then it would piss on me.
Anyways, I had a guy from Sante Fe come to my house and swap my cracked windshield out. He also cleaned up the rust with a wire wheel. No leaks since. I can give you his number. Not sure if he'll go to LJ or not though.
