Their solution was to upgrade to their new Xumo box for free.

Basically, ignore the problem and provide a different solution.

Well. I didn't chime in earlier when you boys were talking about how wedding rings draw ladies' attention (pups on a leash are more effective; a baby in a body carrier the most effective... although, wrong on so many levels), but: SoCal has more than our share of attractive, not too overweight gals, and maybe 10% of those drive trucks. So, it's not all fantasy. But definitely a worthy fantasy.

Well worth it, though. But I love dogs. I see em as best friends. Never thought of em as a wingman haha

When I was in HS, the vocational department was defunded. So we got screwed and told to go to college.

Well that sucks. Half of my friends went to vocational classes. I'm not sure what they'd be doing today if they didn't. I got out since I found electronics too basic (or at least what was taught).

Dogs are great. Puppies are a different category. In some ways, harder than kids but the duration of the sentence is shorter.

I’ll get a puppy when I’m 85 if I’ve slowed down by then and if I’m still alive.

I thought I removed enough ice for Ravioli but apparently not. Definitely learned a lot from this storm.

Only 80K? Chris must be working part time. My Dad still works a few days a week (electrical contractor) and brings in over 100K a year. My brother (electrical contractor) busts his ass and brings in well over 200K a year. Dad has a nicer clientele that he has built over 40 years.

    The trades are always available.

I'm a high school drop out and I make pretty good money for someone without an education, other than my Good Enough Degree.

This is fun and more to your point. I have a Bachelor of Science in engineering and yet we're in the same field and given our location to Metropolitain areas probably make similar money.

Picking a useful degree goes a long ways. Higher education has been good to me too. I also did the first two years at community college to save money so I graduated with less than $10k in student loans. Paid them off in 2 years.

    Probably so.

I see a lot of young bucks come here with all kinds of degrees and student loan debt. I feel bad for the ones that just got a degree to get one due to the financial strain on themselves.

I honestly just got lucky. No other way to say it. I worked my way up to my position that I'm in now from the bottom but I lucked out getting a foot in the door.

I had to get an MSEE & co-op job before I was employable. Plus it DID matter where I got the degree from unfortunately. Apparently BU didn’t make the cut. I was fortunate to have hardly any debt since I worked to pay for it.

I need to vent and maybe preach to the choir here just a minute. It really irks me when people will create a post without obviously searching. Then a member or 2 will come on a point out where OP can find all of the needed information. This should be the end of it. However, then a few more people feel intitled to reply to OP anyway just to keep the redundant thread going... :smash:

I try to give everyone with two- and sometimes 3-digit post counts an opportunity to see how things typically run with the forum before I let it get under my skin. At least one of those added posts did allow for a linkback on other pertinent info that may end up helping others out. It's all a balance. Maybe.

I swear UPS and the USPS are ran by the same people. I called KSP just a few minutes ago and they said UPS grabbed it 930am-ish Saturday 1/20. And here we go. Label made, we have it maybe, we have no clue, its delivered.....

I had this happen recently when Elmhurst Toyota supposedly shipped me my OEM reman CV axle. They told me UPS took it, but didn't scan it when leaving and suddenly it was "missing". That was 3 weeks ago now, I think? Anyway, never got it, and they refunded me, but still...
