Got the same one. Been great the last 5 years. Went under my scat pack and lifts my k5 on 37’s and my tundra with no issues. Only time I need a block on top is when I’m picking up the entire rear on my rzr but that thing has a ton of travel so not the jacks fault.

Hey guys, long time follower but got some new shoes today. Prinx hi country mt’s. Got them on eBay for $180 a pc before tax. Installed today and initially feel great on road and measured 33.5” under vehicle weight mounted. Didn’t Rub and have 1.25” spacers on trd pro wheels and suspension setup with 1” strut spacer. I travel highway mainly for work at 20k miles a year. I can take more pics if anyone would like but just wanted to show a trd pro setup at a budget minimal build if anyone is looking. Ksp 1.25” adapters at $117 off Amazon and my 1” strut spacers were like $40 for aluminum billet street rays brand off of eBay. I forgot price in 1.5” variable 1-2” rear shackle lift of eBay too but under $100 I’m sure. All holding up great over 2-3 years. I am a budget man!

Prinx hi country mt’s 35x12.50x18

 

Well today had an up and then quickly a down. My paint matched platinum grill and hood bulge showed up today from sparks. Unfortunately they sent the wrong color grill! Was all excited to install then super bummed. Hopefully they are helpful with getting me the correct product. (The order was correct, they made the mistake)

 

I've had a few problems with paint matched items over the years from sparks. They were way more responsive in 2014 then they were in 2021 but they made things right in both cases. They will correct it eventually.

 

With the spacers no 70mph steering wobble?

 

Nope, I drive 70 mph often where I live and have never had a wobble. I did install the way prescribed with blue lock tite, checked, and torqued after 50-100 miles. Have at least 5k miles on them now. Even been up to 80 mph fine but I coast on the interstate.

Yep they are the 35x12.50x18’s on stock trd pro wheels. With 1.25” spacers. Rides great. Tires were a steal at $180 before tax on eBay. Couldn’t pass it up.

also stock trd pro 2” suspension with 1” added spacer to achieve 3” total roughly.

 

Hate to use spacers, but I guess no rub? With the spacers did you have to install longer wheel studs? Truck looks great btw!

 

Thanks man I appreciate it, been a slow process over the years but finally where I want it now. So I don’t like spacers too bc of added stress to bearings (I’m an ex VW mechanic) and what not but my last tires were a 1/4” or less away from my uca so I knew I needed more tires soon and wanted bigger size and would be wider tread. So I went ahead and tried it and work fine.

sorry left off it’s stock wheel studs, nothing longer. I’ve seen other guys mentioned they needed them but mine did not. Stock was fine on trd pro.

 

Alright...after 11 days of staring at it and finally having above 0° temps, I installed the faux TRD Pro skid plate...and it's badass...hardest part when marying to Valhalla cat shields are the FauxTRD rear bolts and the front of the cat shield bolts...I used the Valhalla hardware as it was much higher grade and kept it all loose enough to jam my hand up above cross member and slap a small 19mm crescent wrench on each side...I tightened them with an impact and with my hands NOT stuck up there (ask me how I found this out).I than used a long screwdriver to knock the wrenches loose and slide them out...a stick, piece of rebar, anything thin and rigid will suffice...I used my 2 post lift and I'm not sure how easy this part would be for those without, but it is doable...looks great and everything id aligned and bolts up famously. I would tell anyone to buy this...

 

Your rear cat plate should be above the front plate. Looks like you originally had it that way and during this skid install you swapped it.

 

I contemplated this and had it that way but in using ship-lap logic, it seems it'd be "better" and less drag-enabling to have the Faux plate on front...though, that logic wasn't carried through to rear Valhalla plate... I'm happy with how it works right now...it is MUCH less resonating when tapping it...it's solid.

I wasn't taking about your cat plate to skid plate location. I was saying your rear to front cat plate.
