Has anyone had issue when at full stop and then hit gas pedal but it doesn’t want to go. I had to let off and then hit gas again

If you are too close to car in front of you....It will say down in the dash, basically throttle delayed....that could be it???

I had a 2022 Platinum that had a bad case of this. swapped it for a 2024 1794 and the problem is not in the new vehicle.

Does this have anything to do with the parking brake recall? Maybe?

What color is your truck? Some on here say that matters!

    You are not crazy.

If you have a truck manufactured before 2023 there may be an TCM update that may or may not help.

I think a vast majority of people will have some delay on a specific timing of a slow speed maneuver but the delay is very brief most of the time. There is a condition that isn't quite fully known that will cause a significant delay. The best thing you can do in this case is hold the pedal steady and it should wake up. If you press to hard its going to suddenly surge.

The problem seems to be as you slow down the Transmission Shifts from either 3rd or 2nd Gear to 1st gear, If the accelerator is pressed within a short window of this happening the throttle is delayed.

Its hard to duplicate or prove unless you are logging engine parameters with a high speed logging tool.

Its unknown if Toyota is refining or working on it further as they are tight lipped about the issue. There may be more than one condition/problem. Transmission TCM learning/Adaptation may be a factor.

I’ve experienced this multiple times in my ‘23 SR5. Just had it in for 5k service and parking brake recall. Recall fix did not fix it. Still lags after coming to full stop at stop sign. It’s like the pedal goes dead and you have to feather it to wake it up.

    Lots of stuff!
Do you know what they did to attempt to fix the lag? Mine does it during a rolling stop and if I just ry to get it lags, and does it in Normal and Tow modes.

When discussing with the dealership service department:

Do write down all the your notes and observations on paper and hand to the service advisor.
Do mention you have a drivability complaint.

You can ask if they can check that the truck has the latest calibrations, and possibly ask if they can reset the transmission memory.

If they can't replicate ask if you can drive with the tech. Also I think its ok to ask the tech if they can log the drive with their scan tool.

Ask if they can open a TAS case with Toyota for more guidance.

Be patient and don't expect much or being able to walk out with a definitive fix.

Don't mention forums, or specific posts and or screenshots of data from other people.
