New Katzkin installed

Just had my katzkin installed a few days ago. Also added the degreez heated/cooled option. Feels like a brand new truck.

Very nice! Do you have any say in where the Degreez controls are mounted?

 

I mounted the controls myself because the installer said they were going to mount them on the side of the seat. I wanted to be able to see the switch and what level they were set at.

 

Looks very nice! Leather makes a big difference, I enjoy having the fans.

 

Seats look great. The TRD Logo…did Katzkin add that? They told me the logo was copyrighted and wouldn’t do that logo. This was a few months ago so something may have changed. That’s been my main hesitation. I really want the TRD Logo. Thanks.

 

Sorry for bumping an old thread, how is the ventilation function on the seats? I've been spending too much time driving cars with ventilated seats and I want them in the truck.

That's good to hear. I'll definitely be getting Katzkin covers for my truck when the wallet permits, either late this year or early next year. Did the red accents and TRD Pro lettering cost extra on yours? Probably not the look I'm going for, but they look awesome in your truck!

 

Yes, the lettering and accents were a little more, but not much.

 

Where in norcal did you have this done at?

 

The shop that installed my Katzskin did say the TRD logo is something copyrighted and cannot be used without Toyota’s consent. But if you buy the truck from the dealership and they custom install it then its ok. Not cool. There goes the mark up on add ons.

They did a great job, everything looks very tight. You have them stitch above the glovebox too?

Question for OP, or anyone else..How does this stuff hold up to heavy use. I have been on the fence, but I use my truck doing work and get in and out dirty and sometimes greasy. Worried about blowing 2-3k and tearing it up in two years.

 

I painted the trim above the glovebox and the trim on the inside door panels.

I had Katzkin leather in my 2010 FJ Cruiser that really took some abuse (hikes and wet from water dogs) and it held up really well. I just replaced the FJ with my Tundra and there was only one place on the driver seat where the leather failed after 190,000 miles of getting in and out in Midwest conditions. I’d say they are up to the task for whatever you need. OEM quality materials for sure.
