    So kinda new to the forum. Reading mostly and first post. My 06 DC passenger window won’t function. Has been working fine and just stopped. Driver or passenger switch won’t activate and the have tried the obvious, checking the lock button. Any ideas? I searched and was unsuccessful on any info.

    Since neither switch activates it, my first thought would be either the motor that raises and lowers the window is dead or a wire has come off it, but it could be something really easy like a fuse being blown. Go to page BE-9 of your full service manual (linked here) for full troubleshooting tips.

    If I were you, I'd probably be popping off the door card, tapping into the wiring to the motor, touching it to a 9v battery to the power/ground wires, see if the motor energizes. If it doesn't, the motor is probably your culprit. It's not unheard of for them to fail.

    We've seen plenty of people avoid buying an OEM replacement either due to cost or availability. If you follow others who purchased aftermarket motors from trusted brand names off RockAuto (I wouldn't buy from scAmazon/fleaBay, never know what you'll get), just be aware that with window motors and door lock actuators, people have found sometimes that they operate in reverse of OEM, and they needed to re-pin a couple of wires on the part's connector which is easy enough.

    My driver window motor on my 2000 failed about 5 years ago. Agree with Shifty

    With windows there’s really just 3 things to looks for. The switch, the motor, the regulator. With the info given my guess is along with everyone else’s. The motor is kaput. However running a multimeter and checking you got power from the switches is also a good thing to check before ordering parts. And while you got everything apart. Use a good silicone lubricant to live up the regulator and anywhere else the window has moving parts. I personally use the WD40 GEL silicone spray on all metal and moving parts of the regulator. And then I use a normal silicone spray line for the window seals. A small coat goes a long way in easing friction and keeping the motor working in a less stressful environment.

    My dad ran an air conditioning/power window shop for 25+years and had me doing windows at the age of 17. It’s a very basic system.

    Hardest part is not breaking clips while undoing door skins or finding the hidden screws holding everything on lol
