Please help anyone experience AC/Heat fan not working? 2018

Hello All,

noticing a humming sound from fan when working. Now it’s intermittent. Won’t come on whether heat or ac or just plain air. Anyone in a 2.5 gen ever have this issue? I had an 08 that went 259k miles without ever having an issue. Of course this is on the heels of the polar vortex this weekend. Not fun.

 

I recently changed the blower motor on my 2016 90k miles, similar symptoms. It was just under $200 for the part and super easy to replace.

 

Where is the blower fuse? Did yours hum a bit before it went? Mine went on then off and now dead. Can tell the clutch on compressor isn’t kicking on belt is spinning

 

Mine was making a humming or grinding noise for a few weeks. Sometimes it would blow air normal, sometimes not at all. I didn't even try the fuse, that would be all or nothing. There is a relay too that I never checked, with the noise it was making I was confident it was the blower motor. There should be a map on both fuse box covers to show you the location. If you do a search, a lot of 2.5s on here have needed the blower replaced at low miles, seems common.

The compressor is a whole other thing. If you have "climate controls" they work similar to a thermostat, so if you are also in a cold season the AC compressor may not be turning on because it thinks the cab is cold enough.

 

Now every light in my dash is going off. Trailer brake pre collision visit dealer and vac light along with check engine is on.

 

But now AC is working

 

Yet pre collision trailer brake error and vsc light is on

 

Did you pull your cabin air filter to see if critters may have got in there blocking the blower motor?
