Good deal or no?

What yall think. 23 Tundra Limited with the premium package and hybrid motor. Truck has 39k on clock. I ran the report and it has clean everything. Looks like highway mileage. They want $54,980 for it before taxes and fees.

 

I'm curious as to why the owner got rid of it.

 

So you found a Tundra. Mileage is up there for a 23. I would lowball them or ask to throw in an extended warranty.

 

Autocheck. It ran through auction so probably was a dealer vehicle.

No its a private dealer but they have an excellent rating and only deal in more expensive cars so im not too skeptical. Factory warranty is up i think it 3yr 36k so extended warranty would be a must. But the way i look at it also is that if it hasn't had a problem in 40k then that might be a good sign?

 

Good question. Im going to ask a lot of these questions tomorrow. Im going to go look at it. Im not too concerned with the mileage since its a Toyota but i def would want some extended warranty coverage for sure. See what the dealer offers as well.

The words “hell” and “no” seem to go well together here.

Too many miles for a 23 and the bumper to bumper is expired. No way to get a Toyota extended warranty I’m guessing and 3rd party warranties are usually a scam.

Unless they want to whack $5K off that price I don’t see any value here.

Plus they slapped on a 3rd tier quality set of tires. To hell with that shit.

Id immediately get the extended one . It KBB for 52k-57k. My other option would be a non hybrid with 22k from carmax but its a 22 so id still be a little more worried about that one as well.

 

You can get a brand new truck for those prices with a bit of patience but it might have a bit less equipment. Just pointing that out.

 

Not in my area ive looked. Nothing comes close. Id rather have the hybrid motor too since im pulling my Tacoma as well. Rather have the extra power. Also less stress on the trans and stuff from startoff.

If I got the options right on Toyota.com build site, you can build a brand new one with warranty for $57.6k and single digit miles on the OD.

 

Do you know how to buy a one way airline ticket?

Might cost you several hundred $$$ to save several thousand $$$. Fly out on a Thursday or Friday, buy new truck, road trip home on the weekend.

 

Then opt for the TRD performance package and you’re close enough to hybrid power on an SR5.

There’s a ton of them to be found on Autotempest with less miles for around $57K that you can still get a Toyota extended warranty on.

That truck you have looked at is outrageously poor value.

Seriously my dude, offer $49K or go buy a better truck. There’s better deals to be had.

 

These are all Non-hybrids but I don't think the Hybrid is worth it in my opinion or needed. You won't even know your Tacoma is behind you with a non-hybrid. You also lose the under seat storage in the back seat with a Hybrid and that is what made up my mind that I didn't need it. Came from a Silverado with the 6.2L V8 and max trailering package and the Tundra pulls so much better.

@Brian422 What coal dragger said here^^^^^^^, that doesn't seem like a very good deal and you should be able to find a new truck near the price you're looking at if that is what heavily used vehicles are going for in your area. I would expand your search a bit.

 

I think I know why it's so pricey... they have to recoup the cost for all that tire shine they put on.

 

Went and test drove a 23 non hybrid this afternoon. Only has 450 miles they want $57,980. It’s loaded up as well. Talking exact numbers tomorrow because they were closing as I test drove. Here’s some pics

biggest difference I noticed between hybrid and non is the slight lag between stepping on pedal. Hybrid is a little quicker too.

 

If you like that truck I think it’s a better deal.

Toyota is also offering a dealer installed performance package at some point that brings power up.
