Bought my first Ford truck in 1976. Owned nothing but Ford till 2016. After spending six years living on a Trawler with no vehicle, we came ashore and needed a rig. Hard to find a pickup in 2021, so I settled on a Tundra 2013 4.6L crew cab 4x4. Very impressed. I do most work myself. She just turned over 172,000 miles and we love her. I have spent a good amount of time on this site lurking for answers. Thanks to all who give solid advice for us DIYers.

    Welcome from Texas!

    :worthless:

BTW, I’m a 6 pack Captain (yes, I know, that’s cute). What was trawler life like?

EDIT: I miss NC. I was born in Jacksonville (Onslow County). Grew up in Charlotte and spent a many a summers as a kid in Wanchesw. I used to own property on Oak Island in Brunswick County. Business brought me to Texas, but I sure miss the East Coast. I pray to God that I can afford to retire there.

This was my house before she got it in the divorce and defaulted :(

Black - I'll find some pics. She's a pure stocker though, no mods other than a toneau cover. Trawler life was incredible. My wife and I met in Dec '15. Sold everthing we had and moved onto the boat in May of '16. Lived full time aboard. Over 12,000 miles and a million memories. . .made it hard to sell. But it was time. We made it 5 weeks from the day we listed her to getting a center console to get back on the water. I have a 50 Ton Masters and did some captain gigs along the way. Even on this old girl, I did all my own maintenance - while learning diesels on the fly. We started out in Southport so very familiar with that area. You'll be back. Everyone comes back.

She’s a beaut! I’ve take the Southport Ft Fisher ferry many times. My all time favorite craft is the Selene 53 followed by the Nordic Tugs 54. Makes me jealous.
