Hell, there is basically no snow up here, and a 2WD Tundra without chain would still outperform a fully equipped Pilot, I saw a ton of Toyota on this mountain this time, some new some clapped out but still smokes me uphill in the 4R....

And to add to the list of insult in the injury, I twisted my ankle today playing with kids on snow sleds, rolled down and twisted my ankle, which induced gout due to high urine acid.
2023 really needs to end now and go away....
Going in tomorrow to urgent care to see if they have steroids shots, they help a lot, but it is a temporary fix for sure.

I'm pretty sure I respect them a lot more than I think I do, but yea, respecting local and native culture is a must for me. I come from the seven seas, and one must respect and be mindful of others when going about business.
The only good thing out of this whole chaos, other than kids having fun, is that I have finally have the light bar installed after purchasing from @memario1214 in BF 2021 sales......
At least I have comfort in this little thing....

How many miles on your pilot for the transmission died? I have a 2016 and it has 70k miles on it. I am trying to figure out how it isn't worth fixing?

Can't remember the actual mileage since I start the trip, but somewhere in the 64K range? Give and take a bit.
There is a fuel pump recall for Honda, but not sure if 2016 is covered. From what I understand, not necessarily just Honda or Toyota, if it involves ECU going bad, chances are there are more ECUs than normal and chAnging every one of them might land you a new car already.
My mechanic friends are all saying it is ECU computer related, therefore, they suggested to rid of it ASAP.
If your trans is hesitate to find gears, have dealer or a reputable shop do a TSB flash, there was one about trans and it did make it better. However, trans in Honda is a weak point and even most dealer acknowledged that as well.

    2017, EX-L.
It was nice, while it worked. Just sold it to the dealer yesterday over text.
Had a couple friends that were mechanics that all said the same thing: rid of it ASAP.
Besides, they match and one up CarMax offer, so that chapter is closed.

I think Honda has it's own weakness, for me it might be that the CAT system should have been replaced in the first place instead of just insisting it was just fuel injectors and all that and this whole drama.
But, it's behind me now. Time to worry about the new car.

Is that the new gen? I don't follow that anymore so I am not quite sure but the 2024 was a "no" from wife due to the big ass "PILOT" across the back.....lol
Just make sure to have dealer/3rd party shop flash any outstanding TSB, some has transmission fix, AC fix and goodness know what else....
It's a nice roomy SUV for four, and a-okay for 6 when my parents are in town, it even stands up to my wife's abuse.....short of a roll over, haha

No, still the same gen as the 2017, as far as I know. I knew I wanted to buy something with a 3.xL NA V6 before Honda and Toyota switched to the turbo 4s.

It's ok for 3 kids in car seats around town. Would probably be better if my wife didn't feel the need to bring everything we own on a 45 minute walk.

Once you are past that stroller phase, it will get easier.

We have to take the truck for an upcoming 5 day trip because my wife wants at least 4 strollers (2 doubles and 2 singles) for 3 kids.

    2 year wait...

We also hated the feel of driving a minivan. Can't explain it but we just felt gross.

One dealer told us one year wait, the other one was like 8 weeks give and take.
Come down to Texas and get one?

Road trip down in the Tundra and make the wife drive the Sienna back?

If and when the Pilot dies, I'll probably give the Grand Highlander a look.

Dude, fly one way and drive the Sienna back up....
I saw a Grand Highlander in person, way bigger than the current Pilot (didn't do the number comparison, but by feel, space behind three row is still a joke but somehow still manageable.
The third row is actually usable whereas in Pilot, it is basically a joke. Wife loved the Coastal Cream color, more unique.....

My wife and her mother have both ridden in the back seat of the Pilot on short trips with no complaints.

I looked at the numbers a while back and, if I recall correctly, the Grand Highlander still has like half as much space behind the rear seat as the Pilot...

Not gonna lie, I would want Grand Highlander if I can't get the Seq, but Sienna did surprise me.
Wife test drove it and I sat 2nd row with kids, it was surprisingly comfortable, ride and all, but just a tad big for wife's daily to work and back....
But still, if the price is right, hopefully she will see the reason behind choosing it....

Big fan of snipping. Get a few bags of frozen peas for the recovery process. Then you can put them tracks all over the place with no recourse or worry of new kids. Its also a good way to avoid the accident child that happens once you've sold all those strollers.

We stayed in her 4 runner throughout our kids early stages. Running a sequoia now in their teens. Hauls all the kids and friends around to tournaments. I'm with you about actually driving a mini van though. Gross.

I got fixed due to that I just don't want more kids, two girls I am blessed with and I am happy with that.

The minivan was a "NO" in my books, but honestly, sat in the backseat of one the other day did have me re-think that.
I don't love it, but the space and ride quality is totally something else.

But alas, wife is set on a 2024 Venza.... So here goes the adventure.

Yep, I did the same after 2 girls.

And when the wife has to drive it, she gets first say in what kind of car it is. Good luck with the Venza.
