I'm going to contact SOS today. I'll let you know what they say. Right now the screen shows Road names. Yesterday it did not.

UPDATE: 2024-01-03 Wednesday. I called via my tundra SOS button. I spoke with the Operator who asked several identifying questions to document. After explaining my issues with the Navigation (I referred to my notes on my cell) she ran several diagnostics on my truck. After several minutes she informed me that the Navigation is normal as of now. She then took more notes and then kindly referred me to Brand Services Engagement. I spoke to another operator who had reviewed the prior e-notes from the other operator. She ran through several functions to see what updates I had on the Navigation. She too noted that everything appeared fine from her location. She did say that if it happens again, take a pic, note where your location is and call my Dealer. She said when I contact the Dealer to insist on opening a TAS Case number. If the Dealer cannot reset; flash or fix it, Toyota will send a Regional Brand Specialist to examine the vehicle. I was on the phone/blue tooth for at 45 minutes talking to both operators. (Just a head-up: when you use the SOS your communications is very loud and there is no way to turn the volume down).

In the process also with the SOS agent. It's loud as hell! Looks like I am getting the same answer as you. All updates are done and it should be working fine. Except that it's not. Guess I'll have the dealer look at it again at my next service

Yes. If you take it in, insist your Dealer opens a TAS case number. Whatever that is, that is what the SOS Brand Engagement Operator instructed I do. If you can, also take a cell pic of your screen. Good luck.

It sure is LOUD...lol. I guess if you're in an accident and delirious they want to make sure you can hear them. :monocle:

SOS and brand management person was embarrassing. Said maybe I'm in a remote area and it's not updating the map. I'm in downtown Atlanta, not in East Montana somewhere. I think they don't have a clue what to do. Would be nice to have it functional, but doesn't appear as if they think it's anything to fix. Only thing I could think is maybe one of the software updates didn't take and it needs to be reset or flashed.

I find it hard to understand why your dealers don't just update the s/w for the nav system. Even if it's already the latest, just update it to see if the problem goes away. If I get an app on my phone that is acting wonky, the first thing to do is restart the phone and if that doesn't work, uninstall/re-install the app. Might not fix it but it seems like from a customer service standpoint it would be the right thing to do. Maybe I missed that in this thread and that was already tried?

If it acts up again, I'm bringing it in. Dealer can flash it again; update it again even though I have the latest update. If they reset it, I most likely have input my personal data again. I already tried disconnecting the battery and sit for half hour. At that point, if it still flaky, open up a case number.

Hi all. Further to my post yesterday. Dealer called me back. They tried to replicate the map issue in a separate vehicle. In working with them, they agreed to see if the map in another vehicle had coverage in an area where my map fell off. Well.... their map worked in an area where mine didn't. The experiment proved that the issue is with my vehicle. Am thinking same thing as previously posted. The head unit either needs to be reset, updated or replaced. At least my local dealership is bird- dogging this thing. Will advise when I hear more. Thanks for the update on the SOS thing. I told the dealership what the advice was and they noted that they already filed a report. So.... it's getting to the right people.

The only thing it’s nice for is the speed limit sign on the gauges. Not sure if that goes away or not. Oh yeah and also the notification in your phone if any of your doors were left open, unlocked or windows open.

I am having the same issue. My subscription ran out and I didn’t renew it for a few months. Decided with the colder weather I wanted remote start from the app. Renewed and the everything works but have a blank maps screen. I can type in an address and it gives me directions but again no graphics or streets on the map. Called Toyota connected services and got brand rep. They ran a few tests and directed me to the dealer for further evaluation. I’m not excited since that turns into an all day ordeal so I’m not sure when I’ll get it in. If anyone finds another way to fix this, please let us know!

UPDATE: dealer called and asked me to bring the Tundra back in. They want it for the whole day to trouble shoot it. I will take it in to them tomorrow. Will let you know what end up doing. Have to give this dealer props. They are really following through.

Another update: Didn't get to the dealer. Per conversation with service tech, some time yesterday, Toyota sent an update to my truck. It appears that fixed the glitch because my maps are working.

Another thing to try in case it wasn't the update that fixed it. Last night, while trying to figure out why my display wasn't adjusting from daytime to nighttime mode (it was ultimately because I didn't have the headlights on (SMH)... when I figured out it was that I set my headlights to automatic), I went into display settings and toggled between daytime and nighttime modes (turning automatic off - i turned it back on after toggling). I then turned display off and turned it back on by touching the screen. When I went back to look at the map, I was able to see all the street details.

Maybe it was a fluke but give it s try before heading to the dealer. If it doesn't work, you always have that option.

I took mine in to the dealer and they reinstalled the navigation software and it hasn’t helped. I am starting to wonder if the problem isn’t with the Toyota streaming service

Hey all: when I was going through this, the dealer reported the problem to toyota and they, toyota, sent an update to my truck. The key is to get them to file a report and/ or have them reload the update to your head unit.

Another thing you can do is adjust the display settings I mentioned above. It costs you nothing but few minutes to try.

Check settings on your head unit display where your map is displayed. Click settings, scroll to display and then toggle between daytime and nighttime modes (turning automatic off - i turned it back on after toggling). I then turned display off and turned it back on by touching the screen. Then I went back to maps and the streets were there. See if that helps. If not, you still have the option of visiting the dealer to have them file a report with toyota.

Toyota dealer said it takes maps a while to load but.... shouldn't take that long.

Try your SOS button in your Tundra and speak with SOS and brand management rep. They may be able to help.

Mine has been erratic at times it works and at times I loose part of the map. I believe it has to do with the downloads. If I loose part of the map while driving it returns if I drive back to the spot where I lost the map.

    Lots of stuff!
I had this happen the other day. It started in Apple Carplay going weird and not displaying the map correctly. I switched back to the Toyota screen and it was blank as well, I did noticed that the geography as showing but no roads. I switched it back to Carplay and the map refreshed and it was back to normal. The Toyota maps were back as well. In my case I just needed to switch back and forth to get it to refresh.

Having the same issue and tried the Texas two step toggle solution and it worked. It keeps happening but the daytime/nighttime toggle continues to fix it
