System settings reset and next start reloaded

I searched and didn't see any posts like this.

2023 limited CrewMax 6.5 foot bed TRD off road premium
We went on a 2000 mile total road trip and when I got back I cleaned the inside of the truck (wiping off the surfaces and such) but no long holding of any buttons or anything like that. The next day when I started the truck everything was reset to the default. It was beeping when I touched the screen, no preset memory, no anything. It wouldn't even let me connect to my account and said it needed cellular service. I drove a few minutes to where I was going and when I started it again to leave there everything had magically reset.

It hasn't happened again and since then I've been into the dealer for my 5k service (at 6k) but didn't mention it as it wasn't doing it and they didn't report anything showing as having an issue.

I guess in the end I don't care as it didn't happen again but I'm curious if anyone else has had this happen or heard of it.

Don’t worry about it too much. My 2022 platinum would reset all the time for the first 6-10 months. It hasn’t happen for the last 6 months. It’s all software updates.

 

I hadn’t of that till you and the other person mentioned it. It saves a record of updates right? I’ll have to check and see.

 

You can always look at the phone app. I believe all major recalls will be there and the truck menu also saves other malfunction. If you didn’t opted out of the data log. (You know that thin yellow sticker that was on the middle under the NAV display) the Tundra will send all malfunctions like abs , warning lights to the dealer network. So when you show up at the dealer they will already know the problem you are having and the date it happened.

How does one reinitialize as the dealer puts it after a malfunction has been corrected?
